Changing forwarding address after today?

I have looked around for the answer but don't see anything, hopefully this isn't redundant-- but will we be able to log in and change our forwarding addresses for Spamcop after today? Or once it's set today, and the system shuts down, will that be it and all email will ALWAYS go to that address?

I've just gone to do this. When you set a forwarding address there. It says:

"Confirmation email has been sent. Please check your mail to complete confirmation. You must retrieve this confirmation email and respond to it for your account to be activated."

But we can't receive any new mail at the old address so how can we confirm the mail forwarding address?

No, the message says "Sending confirmation to MY-EMAIL[at]spamcop.net". That means I'll never get it so this is a dead end too at this point.

I think the "new tab" they referred to maybe hasn't been implemented yet. But it's about 5pm now so others like me are just screwed at this point and all of our mail is being dropped.

So because Cisco closed 3 hours early, I've lost thousands of emails and get to spend the rest of my evening resetting every service I've ever subscribed to. Thanks!

I get a message saying it sent a confirmation email to my new forwarding address, but it never gets there. Have tried it a number of times and still no luck. Is this just because the server is flooded at this point and it will work later?

1. There is no "New tab."

1.a Perhaps the tab only appears on those customers' webpage who actually set up the forwarding in time?

2. Going the other route, using Preferences, appears to work i.e. I am sent a confirmation email at my new (i.e. "forwarded-to") address, but, apart from that, forwarding does not actually seem to happen.

We received an announcement FIFTY THREE days ago about this change, but nothing since. That is simply atrocious customer relations.

I am a seventy year old retired gentleman who has spent his summer going in and out of hospices and funeral homes as two close family members expired during those FIFTY THREE days. I did not have my wits about me, which, if there was any common sense at all at spamcop or cesmail or cisco or wherever, need not have been such a big problem!

       You could try the SpamCop (Cisco) Deputies at e-mail address deputies[at]admin.spamcop.net.

True, but you'd think that one of them might bother to show up here and respond to the growing number of problems and concerns.

Most forwarding is working as it should but there is a small number of accounts experiencing problems.

Clearly they are up to their collective bottoms in reptiles of the crocodilian kind. We must trust the swamp WILL be drained, meantime, and in between official advices, any changes of circumstances (or not) are usefully reported here.

Certainly is a terrible muddle but we are told SC is aware that there are forwarding problems and that they are working on them - but in the meantime that is muddying the waters in terms of whatever is available to set up forwarding at this late stage. It seems to be available (see, for instance, Peter's post http://forum.spamcop.net/forums/index.php?...ost&p=90251) but perhaps cannot be confirmed to work because some or all forwarding is problematical right now. There are also unresolved questions over 'plus addressing', probably meaning the staff don't know what is possible yet.

Hopefully unrelated but potentially affected is the matter of reporting account suspension when SC messages to registered account email addresses bounce (normally easily fixed but if those are spamcop.net/cesmail.net/cqmail.net addresses there may be current problems). Then there's a reported problem with setting up/adjusting mailhosting which may or may not also have tendrils extending into the SC mail forwarding.

We could hope for more but, under the circumstances, I expect fairly-well all effort is being spent on the problems and we will be getting only infrequent news when there is some positive, tested and verified development to report.

Yes that is true.

I just thought that with several threads running with basically the same issue, it would not hurt to re post for those that may have not read the information the first time. I may have been misguided.

I have noticed that the current events have motivated several CES users to become new posters here and some of them, in their frustration, may not be taking the time to read/review the post of others or know how to find all the related threads. Not being able to fix the real problem, it seemed that a little duplication would be better than just letting the newer members flounder.

As we all have learned from past experience, we will all know when the problem is resolved when the symptoms disappear. And that will most likely happen without interim reports.
