mailhosts configured. now what ?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have configured my mailhosts. But I don't see any change in the system. In the faq's it says:

When they submit spam using Jeff's "report as spam" or they forward spam

to the quick submit address, they receive back the normal reply as if they

had done a regular submit. Included in that reply is this text:

"Quick reporting is prohibited until mailhost configuration is verified.

But it doesn't say that when I send spam to submit...xxx[at]spamcop.net.

Also I can't find anything in the menus related to quick reporting.

So how to proceed ?

Cheers,

Rick

Configuring your Mailhosts makes the parse more accurate. It doesn't make any changes in the system.

Thanks for your quick answer. I solely configured the mailhosts since it was a requirement for quick reporting. Of course I don't mind testing it for a few days, but it's not really clear to me how to enable quick reporting once tests are completed.

And although it's not in any FAQ, some of us have recently experienced very bad consequences when using Quick Reporting, in that some defective email headers resulted in us reporting our own providers/servers. I have therefore sworn off Quick Reporting permanently, as the IP of my own personal VPS now has a "History" in the SpamCop reporting system due to the improper parsing of the emails in question.
