I have not seen this in the forums yet but I have had problems using the forward from webmail process. I don't know if it is just me, all webmail submissions, or all email submissions but something seems to be inserting blank lines between every line of the message this morning. Submissions from last night (~10PM EDT) were fine. Here are 3 tracking URLs showing the problem.
All these were submitted as usual for full processing, that is checking the box on the message list view and hitting the forward button and sending to my submit.x address. http://www.spamcop.net/sc?id=z811810439zaf...3bea68fa52e2f4z http://www.spamcop.net/sc?id=z811810440z32...8a2ddafa86a5d5z http://www.spamcop.net/sc?id=z811830990zdf...6472dd37d02e13z Any confirmation it is happening to others and how you are submitting would be appreciated. Message already sent upstairs to both JT and the deputies since I am not sure where the problem is being introduced. -------------------- Steven P. Underwood, DNRC

One post in the spamcop newsgroup timestamped abour 15 minutes prior to this post, specifically talking about Quick-Reporting and listing some sample of a "Here are the results ..." page ..... On the other hand, I finally made it back to my www.spamcop.net page, found the 'report now' link .... Not happy with the mung job, so not providing a Tracking URL, trust me, the extra blank lines weren't there.

Today I reported my spam as usual (from webmail / folder held mail / check all / Report as spam).
After the usual delay I got the Email with "SpamCop Quick reporting data" which looked like this: CODE SpamCop.net Here are the results of your submission: Processing spam: From: Subject: error:No IP found Processing spam: From: Subject: error:No IP found ... It seems there is something broken between webmail and reporting... (But as I could report normally with copy/paste into the form I assume this is a webmail problem.) Some of the spam concerned was fetched from external POP servers, some was directly addressed to my cesmail.net-account. I reported 35 messages about 6 hours ago and 3 messages some minutes ago. (with identical results) (I assume most of them had correct and parsable headers. It was my whole spamload from 24hours, looking quite average...) If anybody can reproduce this behaviour somebody might have to look into it. Lukas (No problem for me. I'll just try to report again tomorrow and hope the msgs parse better then...) *EDIT*Merged this over here for now though might move it back to Email forum if the tide turns that way. PM sent to Lucas to inform of the change. This post has been edited by Wazoo: Oct 4 2005, 10:30 AM |

Please see Lukas' post just above. Call it my lack of personal knowledge on the details ... I think I was just trying to state that the way I read the newsgroup post (duplicated in the merged Lukas post here) was that it was a web-based e-mail account using Quick-Reporting that was involved in the newsgroup post. At this point, it does appear to boil down to JT's side of the house, but .... where will folks start their search process? Guess it's time for a new Announcement <g> |

It's doing the same with all my quick reports since 09:00 today, last nights processed properly but all quick reports today have shown the error:No IP found and not parsed correctly. That will probably equate to around 1000 individual spams submitted via the webmail quick reporting interface between 09:00 and 17:00 GMT+1hour that have not parsed. SnowDog |

I paged JeffT and sent him email about the problem.
Unfortunately, that's all I can do. He is not up on IM, so he may be away from his office. - Don D'Minion - SpamCop Admin - |

I got a Webmail account.
Since yesterday, every spam found in held mail and reported sends me back an email with a continuous list of "no ip found". Here is last one : SpamCop.net Here are the results of your submission: Processing spam: From: Subject: error:No IP found Processing spam: From: Subject: error:No IP found Processing spam: From: Subject: error:No IP found Processing spam: From: Subject: error:No IP found Processing spam: From: Subject: error:No IP found Processing spam: From: Subject: error:No IP found Every spam I report produces such "no ip found" messages back. Every one of them since yesterday. |

Merged Gilboooo's post into this existing Topic / Discussion. In the PM to advise of the move, I also pointed out the post in the Announcements section, the Announcement at the entry screen to each Forum ... not sure how much more can be done to make the data any more visible ...????

I'd rather just nuke the held email after careful review than copy and paste the source... I get WAAAAYYYY too much spam/mis-directed bounced email. |

For completeness, I have sent a second message to JT as follows:
QUOTE JT: I just tested by forwarding the same way I submit for full reporting to my work account and the attachments showed up with the blank lines, so something has changed in that forwarding/Report as Spam code. -------------------- Steven P. Underwood, DNRC

That method still works fine.Reminder...to get there, go to the reporting page and hit the Held Mail folder. P.S. Now moving this to the email forum since it does seem to be only webmail related. -------------------- Steven P. Underwood, DNRC
