So, as I missed the change-over, were there actually any "real" posts by other than the regulars? The Help group is still totally dead. Guess I'm wondering as to how much effort should we try to put into this thing to help the decision?

I maintian a couple of sites at which the host does provide this type of on-line 'support'. PITA is the best I can say, but it's there. As I suspect here, the types and content of posts there would result in the same chaos if NNTP was the support mode, so just that it's a web=based forum doesn't seem to make things much clearer.

Just figured out that I'm tired and probably rambling about nothing. So, if the first board lasted a small number of days, what's the tipping point for trying the next one? Yeah, that's the question.

You mean real posts in the other forum? Not really. We're still kind of in testing mode.

You'll switch from newbie after 10 posts.

Messed with the [QUOTE] marks to just strip it back to include only your post, fingers crossed on that one.

Well, that's kind of the backgrund on the question. From appearances thus far, all we've got going here is a few of the NNTP regulars trying to slide over and attempt to give a yeah/nay on this side of things. So in addition to your "does it work", there's the adjustment from these few to this "strange" environment. So how do you weight the responses thus far? <g>

BTW: did you get the personal e-mail / note I sent? No response in my Incoming and it doesn't appear to be reflected in anything marked "new" here. It was sent via the interface here, as yet another "test" ....

The forums haven't been advertised on any of the websites yet, so I wouldn't expect a bunch of traffic. It will pick up.

Yes, I got the email you sent through the system. I just haven't replied yet, but it works.

Yes, I understand that you've only posted a couple of notes in newsgroups, but also note the lack of "newbies" that have read (or even seen) them, thus the questions.

The query on the message to you ... Read the Help (FAQ?) on this thing, and it mentioned going to "my Inbox", which I did. But there was nothing showing in the "Sent" items, of course nothing incoming either. So was a calculated question towards 'was this another feature not implemented' ... But, then trying to reconcile as to whether I'd actually sent an e-mail or a PM in this apps parlance. Danged if I can remember now.
