I have tried to setup filter to forward mail that have a keyword in the subject and these emails sitll end up in my held mail.

The email comes from a email list and the reply to is the persons email adress instead of the email list so I cannot add it to the whitelist.

So what's the deal I thought the filters overrode the blacklists?

...Well, I'm treading on dangerous ground here since I don't use SpamCop's e-mail capability but I thought it might be worth asking: did you read the Pinned FAQ items, such as Pinned: White/BlackList & Filtering?

Of course I read it and it does not explain why it does not work as expected.

I asked about this kinda stuff recently (I think): see Webmail filtering - custom filters. Unlike some of the other folk here, I'm not fluent in client/server-ese, so this was an attempt to ask in English why the filters don't seem to work the way you or I think they should. The short answer is, custom filters set in Webmail aren't much use unless you read your email within the Webmail system.

The problem is that whitelist only filters reply to and it would be nice if you could set it to whitelist sent to or keywords in the subject. Guess I should just have that email sent to a different unfiltered address.

Where did you find this bit of data? It doesn't seem to match stuff found in other discussions.

OK I think the problem was that the first few times it happened I thought I had whitelisted this email list but it had in fact only whitelsited the users email address and I needed to manually add the email list to the whitelist instead of using the form in the held email page. I thoguht I had manually emailed but it was not in the list. So if any more slip by I'll be back.

Ok, am thinking that your previous "only filters reply to" might be based on the "whitelist and forward" action .... vice what you actually needed to do was going in and manually managing your whitelist .... if so, then the only "confusion" factor might still be ... is it the "reply to" or the "from" address that actually gets added in the first action described?

Actually in this case it's the sent-to address that needs to be whitelisted. Guess it might be nice if you had some options to choose what address is gettign whitelisted when you submit from the heldemailpage.

I'm on an email address but the common address to all the emails from is the (Reply-to: or To: )

The whitelisting feature is not catching it and I'm under the impression that it should even though the whitelisted address is not in the (From:).

If I remember correctly and searching the archives, the system checks only the From: and Return-Path: fields.
