Ok as i understand spamcop prefers "firefox" huh....

But it happens more and more that when i go to the page and log in .....
But instead of the page i get this :
And yes in this html code layout...
Looking at the source instead of the page itself,..
I think this happend like 5 or 6 times now in the last months,and it takes hours (sometimes) before it turns back to normal..

Why is this?

Are you saying that the web page shows you the html content you included (text screen) or am I supposed to read the HTML to figure out what you are seeing?

I believe he is saying he gets unrendered code (text). I haven't seen this.
My Firefox 1.0.7 will show the page source (only when asked) as:

There are some differences which might mean something to someone, but not to me, I'm afraid.

[How to] post a question ... things like Operating System, Browser, ISP, type of connection ... what are "we" supposed to factor into your scenario?

"Takes hours" ...??? do you know anything about the word "cache" .. do you clear yours?

On and on with the request for data (in my head) .. but .. why bother?

IE5, IE5.5, IE6 ... FireFox 1.0.5,1.0.6,1.0.7 ... Safari .... Konqurer .. on and on ... nothing duplicates your situation unless I ask to see the source code ...????

sorry for late reply ,was on my way to bed,its kinda late here..
but yes...Farelf is right..thats how i see it,couldnt find the words..."unrendered code (text)"

But do not blame this on my system cause ive seen this before,the error i mean.
Ive seen it some time ago when i still had version firefox before the 1.0.7
And a month ago i had a complete new system install and now i see exactly the same..
So 2 different situations..
Anyway,im using windows xp pro sp2
Only extra stuff i have installed is the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 and updates.
connection is cable broadband 1.5mb connection.

and its not related to my computer,ive tried some things but it doesnt make any difference.

Given that there are no other reports of this 'error' we have to conclude that it is something peculiar to your set up.

A rendering problem unique to your configuration points to something in your stage of connecting. I guess your ISP's proxy server could be adding a glitch along the way as, I suppose, could any routers etc in the process. But, despite your protestations to the contrary, the favourite has to be your PC. Simply saying it isn't a problem on my PC won't do. You need to say why and how you've determined this to be the case. That will assist the diagnosis.

If you could give a better description of your connection - details of ISP, means of connection (dial-up, adsl, cable modem etc), description of the hardware at your location, any personal preferences you've selected in your browser etc etc then it is possible that someone might be able to suggest a solution.

In the end I'm not convinced this is a Reporting issue in its proper sense but I can't think of a better place to address it. Moderators?

well i do feel this started after a maintenance job at the spamcop site,that was some time ago.
ive never had this before.
and im not completely a noob,meaning that i have knowledge enough to know this isnt something i could blame my computer for.
and another thing....
ill bet its realated to spamcop...

example....
last night when it happend i wanted to try it with IE and see what happend using that browser.
But i because i didnt knew my pass i tried to use the to reset my pass ,but it didnt recoqnised me at all.
so that was weird...
i used the email that i use to report but spamcop didnt recoqnised it.
so that proves something ....

The fact still remains that you are the only person complaining about text rendered pages so the problem is probably a lot closer to your end. Since (according to you) it can't be your machine, perhaps your ISP has a cache system for your benefit that needs clearing? If others start to report similiar problems, we can start to assume it is a larger problem.

I have also seen issues in which a SpamCop Parsing and Reporting System webpage would appear in unrendered HTML. Usually, that turned out after the fact to have been a particularly bad time for that System, which appears to have had another bad time yesterday between 16:35 and 16:45, and then again between 16:55 and 17:10 (all local time PDT -0700, around 19:53 EDT -0400, around 23:53 UTC -0000). Of course, with the introduction of Akamai into the equation, it would help to know which IP Addresses of Akamai reverse proxies john1000 is using to access that System, which website of that System he is logging into (www, members, or mailsc), and his Account Type (Free Reporter, Premium Member, or Email System Customer - see my new FAQ Entry: SpamCop Account Types for details).

well i have a normal account in whitch i have to login to report..
in from the netherlands ,have as isp chello and ive seen these errors on different times...because i report the whole day long but its fair to say that it happens in the evening and after midnight..
meaning between 22:00 and 02:00/03:00 europe time.

Traceroute to fill in some gaps??? Again, Akamized servers are likely in the mix.
There are a number of previous discussions in here about (probable) issues there, to include a response or two from an Akamai staffer on why my requests for data/solutions were pretty much ignored ....

Based on the ongoing issues of IronPort maintenca/software engineers/whoever else involved with the up/down/re-boot situation of the Parsing & Reporting system, was looking at tossing up a link into the Forum page header block to place a link to the stats page, playing now with trying to come up with a way to snag the graphic, reduce the size to fit within the banner area, yet still be legible ... not really working all tha well ...but, as an additional bit of info, detail, quick-link ...???

First: http://forum.spamcop.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=4919 for previous discussions with a simliar error messsage ... you didn't mention "Gateway timeouts" so ignored those links ....

Second .. you'll note that the other users complaining about issues that include one of these Reference numbers don't seem to make the same claim that "everything disappeared" ... so hard to factor in all your problems .... noting that I believe there are unanswered quetions in the last Topic you were discussing things in ... why no answers there, the start of a new Topic ... ?????

Matter of fact, heck with it .. these last two posts were moved/merged into your existing Topic ... both the unanswered issues and that it's still dealing with your apparnt connection issues ...

me too.
either the can't login, "No userid" with "putRow" error or the text rendered page (html source)
for the last hour it was not possible to login...

hope they didn't mean to have a maintainance window till 12/25/2005
