The SpamCop.net system is basically divided into two separate entities: the SpamCop Parsing Service & Blocklist; and the SpamCop Email Service. Some of the components of SpamCop are free, some paid, some technical. Likewise support for the SpamCop.net system comes in various forms. Two of the major support venues include this Forum as well as its predecessor, the Newsgroups (which are still very much alive and well)

The primary mode of support in the Newsgroups and these Forums is peer-to-peer, meaning users helping other users. As such, the Newsgroups and/or these Forums do not provide Official SpamCop.net Customer Support. The Forum Admin and Forum Moderators are not employees of SpamCop.net and receive no payment for their services. They are just regular users of parts of the SpamCop.net system who have chosen to get involved in supporting it using this Forum structure. As there are many different aspects to SpamCop, the members of these forums come with various areas of expertise. That means that the forum is not truly peer-to-peer since posters range from end users with little or no technical knowledge to server administrators with daily experience with email. The same holds true for the Newsgroups where the structure is more informal but the primary support base remains a dedicated group of volunteers.

That said, the regular users of the SpamCop Forums have built an archive of Frequently Asked Questions (User Created FAQ or UC FAQ) that can be used to answer most questions, and in the process of trying to answer questions, users are often pointed to the FAQ - either the original SC FAQ (official, but out of date) or the UC FAQ (constantly being updated). The FAQs also provide a way for people with questions to find the answer and not have to post and wait for an answer. Also there's a SpamCop-oriented Dictionary / Glossary available to all ... please take a look at these, the newer SpamCop Dictionary and the original SpamCop Glossary. There is also an new Wiki under development to be yet one more source of information. And do not forget the original Newsgroups.

The user to user forum often provides faster and more complete answers. However, if you want to talk to a SpamCop employee about Reporting and Blocklist issues, please use this link to the web submission forms at SpamCop Web submission form which is designed to ask specific questions and extract information that leads to resolution on first contact, rather than having to write back and forth a few times.

...Note: at first, I misunderstood why you edited my reply to include your original post and almost re-edited it to remove that original post! Happily, I realized what you had done just in time. Next time a similar situation comes up, you may wish to consider either adding the original text to a reply that you post or mark up your original post in a way that conserves but makes clear you wish to change the original wording. Due to the new link at the top of every forum to the new single announcement which links back to this topic, this topic has been move to the FAQ Under Construction Forum to avoid creating links that work for some but not for others.

Have to ask, is there another version of this floating around somewhere? I distinctly remember editing one, but don't see those edits in this copy ..... for example, I know I changed the "user created" description, added in a lot more detail on the fact that the "single-page access point" incorporates both the www.spamcop.met FAQ and the mail.spamcop.net FAQ .... the identification here of only one web-form for contact then runs into someone contacting the wrong folks for e-mail account issues .... noting that the link to the post that Miss Betsy has been complaining about is also included in this item, actually thinking that the recent "not finding answers" entry could replace both of these 'contact staff' listings ...

On and on ... too many duplicate conversations going on in too many different places ...

This is the only copy of this topic but it does contain links to other topics. It was been located in different forums at different points in time; but this topic has always been a single topic, unlike some of the others that do appear in several forums as separate topics but the same subject. (ie the single announcement) Getting where we need an index to keep track of where everything is.
