We were doing upgrades on a couple of the servers. One didn't come back up completely by itself. That means that logins for the users unlucky enough to hit that server might fail. And, it wasn't all users, as some users could login to that server fine. Our monitoring scripts didn't catch it because of the weirdness, so I didn't notice for a few minutes.
