Full Version: I get mail from many domains, how to report SPAM?

I get mail from various computers in upenn.edu and dca.net
Sometimes I get SPAM on these addresses. If I report the
message as SPAM, then the machine who forwards my mail
to me gets reported as an open relay. This is wrong. The machine
on which I get mail is not an open relay. I am getting real, good
mail from those accounts. I just want to report the machines which
sent mail to those machines.

If everything is configured properly (each server inserts correct headers), the parser submits the forwarding IP address to another service (ordb.org) to test whether it is an open relay. If it is properly configured, that service will determine it is not an open relay and it will not be listed on that service. Spamcop does not list open relays, only sources. The spamcop parser should then proceed further down the chain to determine the actual source. If this is not happening, please paste the tracking url for one of your parses that is determining that the relay is the source and someone here should be able to find where the problem is.
