  1. At SpamCop Blocking List after a "Numeric IP Address is entered, the page offers a "SenderBase Lookup"option. Selecting this option used to take you to a talosintelligence.com page. But now I get an error: Error 1020 Ray ID: 477137b2cc9a7e51 • 2018-11-09 15:12:26 UTC Access denied It seems that SpamCop.net no longer has permission to access Talos. Anybody know if this is going to be fixed? The "SenderBase Lookup"option should change its underlying URL to https://talosintelligence.com/reputation_center/lookup?search=xx.xx.xx.xx (FIll in the "xx.xx.xx.xx" with the requeste IP address.) 2. Thanks, Derek, for helping me understand better: the inner workings of SC. -Jim
  3. Thanks, Don.What I don't understand is that 1) I receive (Chinese) multiple spams from this exact same IP EVERY Friday (IP 123.58.178.204 : zyxu[at]corp.netease.com) 2) it gets blacklisted 3) then gets quickly removed with a message: "ISP has indicated spam will cease; ISP has resolved this issue....' 4) but the spam does not cease, because I will receive more Chinese spams from the same IP on the following Friday. So, in conclusion, the spams do not cease, yet they get removed from the blocklist in less than 12 hours. Could you help me understand why spam continue weekly even though SpamCop indicates "spam will cease". Thanks. Regards, Jim Odell
  4. Am trying to find out is why I receive WEEKLY spams from IP 123.58.178.204 : zyxu[at]corp.netease.com -- but when I report them I get the SpamCop message that "ISP has indicated spam will cease; ISP has resolved this issue....' This has happened EVERY week for two months -- and when I go to check the IP on Senderbase, the IP has been removed from the blacklist. So, I continue to get spammed every week, but no long-term blacklisting seems to occur. Can anyone explain why this cyclic phenomenon occurs? Thanks, Jim
  5. SpamCop has implemented a very generous limit of 3,000 emails that may be submitted for parsing by a single account in a 24 hour period. There is no way, as an individual, that I can do that. Yet, spam cop has suspended my account for reporting less that a dozen spam in 24 hours. I have paid my money in good faith to SpamCop and have used it for years as a member in good standing. My reward: not even a warning -- and no responses to my request for reinstatement. It seems that SpamCop is experiencing internal software problems -- as well as service problems. What a pity.

    Reporting problems today?

As of Wed Jul 11 14:05:58 2012 -0400 SpamCop writes on it's webpage "We are pleased to report that at the time of writing, the SpamCop service is fully operational. " So far, this is not my experience. I have only been able to report two spam. The rest of the reporting efforts are either non-responsive or I receive: "Gateway Timeout The proxy server did not receive a timely response from the upstream server. Reporting problems today?

Yes, I have had the same problems mentioned above. Glad to know I'm not the only one. However, I had one more on top of this: SpamCop Suspended my privileges for reporting too many spams -- which according to the SpamCop webpage is more that 1000 per 24-hour period. Something must have gone haywire in their system because I could not physically send that many. Yesterday was a busy day because: 1) I received a lot of spams and 2) the SpamCop latency was so bad that either I did not get a response or SpamCop's server timed out. So, maybe I sent (and resent) a total of 50-75 spam reports Have emailed them several time to say that I have been using SpamCop for over 10 years and and a good SpamCop citizen. So, I requested that them reinstate my account. However, they do not respond to any emails. Maybe I don't have the correct address or something. Anyone have suggestions about who I should contact? Or, what email address might work? Thanks, Jim
