  1. >- "Outlook could not logon to the outgoing server (SMTP)" That sounds like you don't have access to the SMTP server you specified in your email settings. Also... DO enable "Authentication Allowed." Do NOT enable "Secure Sockets." Unfortunately, I don't know anything about your situation, so I can't help. Sorry! - Don - .
  2. The full headers were not present in the spam you submitted. SpamCop needs to see all of the "Received" lines that document the entire path the message took on its way to you so it can track the spam back to the source. SpamCop is looking for the full headers in one contiguous block of text, followed by a blank line, which signals the end of the headers, and then followed by the body text of the spam. The parse won't accept headers if there is no body text with them. Here is an example of full headers... My quick reporting password no longer works.

It sounds like you may have been working on your Mailhosts, which causes "Quick" reporting to be disabled. Log in, click on the "Mailhosts" tab, and look for a link that talks about "Removing the quick embargo." Or, you can EMAIL your login username (email address) to me so I can look at your account details. service[at]spamcop.net - Don D'Minion - SpamCop Admin - - Service[at]Admin.SpamCop.net - .

    Inbound Mail Not Coming Through

CESmail is having trouble. I know that they're working on the problem, but I haven't heard any news. There is a note about it on the Webmail login page. - Don -
  10. service[at]spamcop.net is not the same as service[at]admin.spamcop.net. Both addresses are receiving email just fine. It is only an internal alias that is bouncing. If you write to service[at]spamcop.net there will not be a bounce because that address does not go through internal SpamCop systems. - Don D'Minion - SpamCop Admin - - Service[at]Admin.SpamCop.net - .

    http://www.spamcop.net/sc?track=http%3A%2F...l.com%2Fqduukm3 Host tinyurl.com (checking ip) = 64.62.243.91 SpamCop says that tinyurl lives at 64.62.243.91, which belongs to Hurricane Electric, Inc. - Don D'Minion - SpamCop Admin - - Service[at]Admin.SpamCop.net - .

  16. The bounce problem has been fixed. SpamCop was sending false delivery failure notices because of another process we had running. If your account sustained a suspension because of this, just log in and resolve the issue by clicking on the button. If our email to you continues to bounce because of some *other* reason, you can write to me and I'll check to see what is happening. service[at]spamcop.net - Don D'Minion - SpamCop Admin - - Service[at]Admin.SpamCop.net - .
  17. The problem is on our end. SpamCop has suddenly taken to sending false delivery failure notices. All very strange!! We're working on it, but there is no news yet. As always, when you experience a problem with SpamCop, the immediate action drill is to shut down your browser and go lie on the couch. :-) - Don D'Minion - SpamCop Admin - - Service[at]Admin.SpamCop.net - .
  18. spam from a Gmail user can't be handled by SpamCop because it never goes out onto the Internet. You have to report it through Google. - Don D'Minion - SpamCop Admin - - Service[at]Admin.SpamCop.net -
  19. Please... DO NOT post that huge spam here. Just the TRACKING URL from the top of the SpamCop page is all we need. How did the excel spreadsheet get included? Are things better now? I just tested the system and everything actually seems better than normal. - Don D'Minion - SpamCop Admin - - Service[at]Admin.SpamCop.net - .
  20. If the affected users will EMAIL their login usernames to me, I will look into the bounce issue. EMAIL... Please do not post your personal information here. For those of you who don't know about the bounce thing... When our system email to you bounces, it automatically causes your account to be suspended. If you log into your account, you will be presented with a button you can click on that will remove the bounce flag so you can resume reporting spam. Assuming your address is currently working. - Don D'Minion - SpamCop Admin - - Service[at]Admin.SpamCop.net - .

Unable to forward any spam emails to SpamCop

The error email tells the tale. It shows you exactly what you submitted. The reason you get an error message is because the full headers were not present in the spam you submitted. SpamCop needs to see the entire path the message took on its way to you so it can track the spam back to the source. If your mail client supports it, using the "Forward as attachment" function to send the spam as an email attachment to your 'submit' address is the best way. SpamCop is looking for the full headers in one contiguous block of text that shows all the "Received" lines, followed by a blank line, which signals the end of the headers, and then followed by the body text of the spam. The parse won't accept headers if there is no body text with them. - Don D'Minion - SpamCop Admin - service[at]admin.spamcop.net .

  24. Autoresponders are OK if you are responding to signups or support requests, etc. Autoresponders are NOT ok if you're responding to spam coming in with forged return addresses. The return address on spam is always either fake or forged. No spammer in his right mind is going to use his own email address on his junk. Sending mail to those addresses is an abuse in its own right. Our trap addresses are a proprietary secret. None have ever been revealed since SpamCop was created. If you are sending to trap addresses, it is because you are adding unconfirmed addresses to your mailing list without the address owner's permission. You may want to review and implement the "best practices" policies outlined at this web site: http://cluelessmailers.org/info/listmanagement.html - Don D'Minion - SpamCop Admin - - Service[at]Admin.SpamCop.net - .
