  1. Had to laugh, what an idiot... My reponse, which I feel makes it funny too... I used the report id at spamcop as my return address. loyal reader ???? I have probably reported them before!
  2. I am a cox user and all my spam come to my cox accounts. I tried the cut and paste and it too shows no date... I usually submit, as attachment, to spamcop through my gmail account because if I send it through cox, it never arrives at spamcop because cox blocks it. Cox has made many changes over the months and it is just annoying. I need the speed I get so I can work from home but I am tired of their mail mess. I used to have a spamcop account which filtered my email until cox changed their spam processing and do not allow users to op-out of their spam filtering. So they block it and then I have to move it to get spamcop to pick it up. Too much time and work for spam.
  3. That would be ok if I didnt receive 50 to 100 a day... however, I do receive that many so I just started deleting them. If submit a few everyday to see if the issue has been resloved but as of yet, it has not. I have been working 70 to 80 hours a week the last 3 weeks or so, so deleting them just saves me time, time I really dont have time to waste. Nearly every single one I submit now is coming up with this error.

I just do not have time to resubmit these, or mess around and figure out what is going on. The unfortunate thing is, if it does not report, I must move on and go to one that does. Since I submit via forwarding the email, and I forward 30 to 40 at a time, they get dumpped in a folder for 20 days or so then deleted. I just do not have time to go back and find out which ones I submitted that did not report correctly. We are in our busy season at work and I am working 60 to 70 hour weeks, have been for a month. I sent 6 in this morning and those three above had the issue. Did the spammer come up with a cleaver way of avoiding being reported?
  5. http://www.spamcop.net/sc?id=z1031856297z6...f9b12db7dfe5f0z Out of 50 I forwarded, about 10 came back with the no date error. I use outlook 2003 and just forward the email through a gmail account (SMTP). All my email accounts have the mailhosts configured. I have been submitting this way for months with no errors until yesterday. When I paste into the submittion form, I use Outlook with the spamsource add in. http://www.spamcop.net/sc?id=z1031873098za...70f9382aeb7eabz Another one, and it was about 10 min old when I sent it in

    Number of Unreported Spam Left

I usually forward 3 or so at a time and due to delays in having it reach my Queu, I can forward 20 or 30 before I know it/ When the parsing is slow and it is taking a minute or so per spam, I would like to know how many I have left to report. Can we get a count display next to our 'Report Now" Link? I used to pay for the filter, and use held mail but due to changes in my ISP, it is no longer an option. They filter now and I have to move them from a spam folder to my inbox. I have complained enough but until they change their process or allow us to turn it of (Yes, they forced it on their users), I am going to just submit them now. Any chance of getting a Queue Count? Reporting Errors

Yes, I do have a spamcop email account but I do not use IMAP, in fact, I only use my spamcop account to get my mail from my public address, filter, send to my private address. Up until a few weeks ago I had the filtering blacklists and spamassasin level perfect, only getting one or two spam in my inbox and no legitimate mail being blocked. It was enjoyable. Most of the people I communicate with are on my whitelist and so scanning my held mail only takes a minute then I quick report them. I was using IMAP at one time, but I recently formated my HD and started with a fresh slate. I just never took the time to set it back up and never really had the need to continue with it. It would be a solution to my ISP learning an item is spam after they deliver it to me, then when I forward it, block it as spam. Their system takes a while to learn the spam they allowed through to my inbox is indeed spam.

    Reporting Errors

Lately I have been getting more and more spam in my inbox. I have to report these manually because my ISP will filter it out as spam if I forward the email to my reporting address. Anyway, today I received errors like this.... which are causing me many pains... Some are 5 times longer with half a dozen of the putRow errors. Something wrong with the reporting service?

    BLAMING THE SPAMMEE

I agree that the tone seemed a little rude, but of course I do not know the whole story. In addition, I also believe that the site should have a challenge “3 way handshake” type system in place before sending someone “spam”. I have no tolerance for a site that fails to take these steps in this day and age (of spam). On another note, and maybe along the same lines, I have never visited yourbigvote.com and I receive many spam from them all the time. I never signed up to receive anything from them and never visited their site until I tried to remove myself from their list weeks ago. I still get spam from them and their IPs never seemed to be listed, so I have been wondering if I am the only one reporting them. Although, I have never heard from an Admin asking me for more info. Have any of you ever heard of this site, or received spam from them?

    Too Many Links??

Ok, I beleive this is it, but I can verify it. It took a long time to parse and when I did it at home this morning, it was successful but from work, it times out on our cisco cache engine and fails to load. I think it is http://www.spamcop.net/sc?id=z709905423zf9...15d216905f2631z It was one of the only ones I cancled this morning before I left for work.

    Too Many Links??

In a spam submission this morning I received this... Saving links for later processing Too many links Do these every get processed? Do I get to see the results? I have never actually seen this message before.
  14. I receive many more spam than I used to. I also take extra precautions when using my email address. For my web sites, I use a mysql database to store my email address and if someone wants to send me an email from my site, they must use the online form and select my name from the list of users. Can this lead to abuse of my email address? No, not the way I have it setup. It actually goes to an email address which then forwards to my regular address and I am able to tell if it is coming from the web site or not. Recently I noticed a persons name in the subject or body of the spam I have been receiving. I then received an email from legitimate site about an account created under that name. I can only assume that some idiot does not know his real email address and has put mine in, thinking it was his. I went to the legitimate site and tried to login, but it failed. I then submitted a request to reset my password and I received an email shortly afterward with the new password. I then logged in and was able to get account info and learn that this idiot lives in the same city that I do. He only used cross streets as his address, but he did put other legitimate info in his account. It is obvious he screwed up and put my email address instead of his own. This occurred less than two weeks ago. I am now getting 30 to 40 spam emails per day with his real name in the subject or body. This leads me to believe that the reporting has increased the number of spam I have received. Although I could be incorrect in this assumption, I still report all this email as spam. Is it spam if someone else accidentally or purposely submits your email address to a site, instead of their own? I say yes because as far as I am concerned I say all email submissions for a legitimate site should do the “3 way handshake”. For those who may not know, that is what I call, submitting your email and then getting an email from that site asking you to verify you are the owner of the account, before they start sending you email. Although a received legitimate email, not spam, with this users name, all the email received in the last week have been spam. I didn't start reporting it until last week. So as for this post, I do believe that the spammers do put identifying code in their spam to identify reporters and then use this info to send more spam to that person.

    Unable to log out

Ok, when I switched to Firefox I let Firefox import all my cookies, settings, bookmarks and such from IE. The cookie was set by IE and was not letting me log out. I have resolved this issue by clearing all cookies and then logging back in using FireFox. Now when I click on logout, it works. Users who switch may need to keep this issue in mind.
