    [Resolved] Web Mail Down

Thanks. Whatever the issue was, it just resolved itself this minute. Stan
  2. I haven't been able to log in this morning via: https://webmail.spamcop.net (or http:) is it me, or are others having this issue? Thanks Stan
  3. I suddenly stopped receiving Spamcop mail via POP and Web mail at about 8:30 am EST this morning. Has anyone else had this problem?

    Mail/dns issues

POP and webmail both seem to be back. I can't vouch for any missing mail though . . .

    webmail problem

Webmail is down for me also (8:30 am EDT). POP was working, but now that seems to not be working either (11 am EDT).

    Filtering Problems?

Actually the filtering seemed to work better a couple of months ago, before I started deleting my HELD MAIL via IMAP. As I remember it, the filtering occurred when I logged-in. Now there is that delay. Logging in and reading the mail is not slowed down. Just the filtering from my own filter list. Ddi anything change on the server, or is it just random voodoo affecting me? It's only a hassle when I'm on the road and have to deal with several hundred spam in my webmail Inbox.

    Filtering Problems?

I'll get the 200 messages. Read the actual mail. Check again within an hour. It usually takes about an hour before the filter works. While I have been testing this, I have not been moving my mail within that hour. Just opening mail to be read in another window, keeping the 200 message list intact until I see the filter work, which can be 30-60 minutes after initial log in. Later in the day the same thing occurs. Tons of messages, I refresh my screen and some time later the filter works. At the start of the day I can have 2000 messages in my HELD MAIL folder and a few hundred in trash. Does this make any sense?

    Filtering Problems?

I get a lot of spam. Almost a 1000 messages a day. When I log-in to the webmail in the morning I can have 200 spam waiting for me. If I leave it there, and check my mail two or three times later in the morning, the personal filter rules system finally wakes up and filters all my e-mail and tosses out the spam. I can tell by the 200 "filter activity" reports that I get and the reduced size of my IN BOX. I have the switches set "" on for: "Apply filter rules upon logging on?" and:"Apply filter rules whenever INBOX is displayed?" So any idea why it takes a few refreshes to finally filter the mail? It's not about the spam having too low a rating as described in reply # 2 above, it's more about some sort of lag time for the filters to do their work...or does it take a hour for the filters to read through all 200 spams before it's done filtering? Also if I POP the mail, it seems that the personal filters haven't kicked in at all, that's why I started webmailing first. Thanks for any insights...Stan

    Can't empty "held mail" box

Hi, I'm not set-up for IMAP, yet. I was just wondering why the behavior has changed and how to continue doing it the way I was doing before I changed my workflow...
  10. I usually clean out my "held mail" box every weekend. For the last several days I can't seem to empty it of the 12985 Messages from this week. Usually I go FOLDERS, click HELD MAIL, Empty Folders and click Yes to the warning dialog. Now I can't get it to work. It apparently times out, without emptying it. Any ideas? Thanks

    Stopping empty (null) msgs

Thanks for all your help. I've significantly cut down on my spam, but some of those empty, black messages are still appearing in my inbox. My SpamAssasin limit is 5. I filter msgs with no "[at]" out. Yet here is one of several with no "From," subject or content that slipped though. I have 3 "blacklists" selected: SpamCop, SPEWS level 1 and DSBL open relays. Maybe someone can decipher the header for me and tell me how it slipped though: Received: from slant.wprost.pl ([239.233.63.168]) by expedition.dora.com (Sun Java System Messaging Server 6.1 HotFix 0.05 (built Aug 28 2004)) with ESMTP id <0O9J00LN6[3 X-spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 3.0.0 (2004-09-13) on blade5 X-spam-Level: * X-spam-Status: hits=1.6 tests=FORGED_RCVD_HELO,MISSING_DATE,MISSING_SUBJECT version=3.0.0 X-SpamCop-Checked: 192.168.1.101 63.151.139.116 81.251.141.3 239.233.63.168 Any ideas? Thanks and happy new year...

    Stopping empty (null) msgs

I was at 5, and they were getting through. I tried the suggestion about filtering out the [at]-less addresses and that seems to be sending them into the hold box. But interestingly I see some are there with message sizes like 100k, and they can't be opened to see what's inside them. They are not hot-linked to open. If I move them to my inbox just to see what's inside, they won't move because of the filter. I haven't bothered removing the filter and have been tossing them out. I'll have more questions the more I play with this. For instance, deleting is a 2 step operation, delete and then empty trash. I can't seem to find a one step way of doing this.

    Stopping empty (null) msgs

I figured it out. There is a selection "Outline·Standard·[ Linear+]" that defaulted to "Outline," which is just the original and one reply with the thread tree: "Posts in this topic." I switched it to "Linear +" and now see all the messages in the thread. Thanks again for your patience.

    Stopping empty (null) msgs

Thanks, I'll try it. Now can someone tell me how to see entire threads or simply "go to the next message" on this board? I can't seem to find a switch to do this here. I do see the thread list on the bottom of the window, and can click one msg at a time, which I'm not enjoying. Thanks again...
  15. Hi, I just signed up for Spamcop.net and all seems to be working smoothly, except my first batch of messages were empty messages with no subject line. Is there someway to immediately have them deleted or shoved to the held mail area before I see them? I spent some time looking over this area and the FAQs for this answer, so I apologize in advance if I missed the answer. Thanks
