IronPort spam Quarantine Notification (leaked data)
Dave_L replied to johnsenchak's topic in SpamCop Email System & Accounts
But could it be a spoof? Actually, I could set up an email forwarding service in about an hour, if it doesn't have to work. If there's enough interest, let me know. Since it won't do anything, I'll keep the annual fee low. -
converting a t.co (or other "short" URL
Dave_L replied to mrmaxx's topic in Suggested Tools and Applications
When I saw one of the spam posts, I didn't bother to report it, since I figured that dealing with such posts would be a high priority for this place. Regarding the original topic: Can you recommend a specific Firefox addon? -

Changing forwarding address after today?
Dave_L replied to Justin42's topic in SpamCop Email System & Accounts
Lking, that was posted here last night, but the situation doesn't seem to be improving, and there have been no further updates or communication here http://forum.spamcop.net/forums/index.php?...14399&st=0# -
I suppose we have to allow them some leniency. After all, email is a new technology. It's not as if it's been around for decades.

My cesmail address is still failing to forward, and there are no bounce messages.

HELP, no field for entering a forwarding address!!!
Dave_L replied to ob1db's topic in SpamCop Email System & Accounts
At spamcop.net, once you're logged in, click the Preferences tab. Then there's a link "Change Email address or name" that takes you to a page that includes a "Forward mail to address" text box. Whether it actually works right now is another matter. -
Changing forwarding address after today?
Dave_L replied to Justin42's topic in SpamCop Email System & Accounts
At least you still have your health. -
The forwarding is not working for me either. It had been working since I set up the forwarding address a few weeks ago, but it stopped working this afternoon. I'm not getting bounces either. Maybe they're still doing the switchover, and it's not going as smooth as planned.

HELP, no field for entering a forwarding address!!!
Dave_L replied to ob1db's topic in SpamCop Email System & Accounts
The forwarding address text box on the options page at webmail.spamcop.net is gone, although the instructional text is still there. Probably that was done since further changes there would be lost, and it can only be changed now on the preferences page on the reporting side (spamcop.net). -
Revised Announcement On Spamcop.Net Reporting Pages
Dave_L replied to Ex_Brit's topic in SpamCop Email System & Accounts
That's consistent with the information previously provided. It's good that this forum will continue to be maintained. -
I never received an answer to this question, so I've assumed that the feature will not be supported.
-
(I'm not sure if "tagged" is the proper term for this feature.) The current email system permits addresses of the form: BASE+TAG[at]EXAMPLE.COM, where BASE[at]EXAMPLE.COM is your actual CES email address, and TAG is an arbitrary string of characters (with some restrictions). After September 30, will the +TAG feature still be supported?
-
My understanding is that incoming email detected as spam will be discarded (not held, not reported). Other email will be forwarded.
-
Server name: smtp.cesmail.net Port: 465 Connection security: SSL/TLS Authentication method: Normal password Actually I haven't been using CES's SMTP lately. I only tried it today to confirm your problem. Since the service will be gone completely in another week, I don't see much point in investigating it further.

I just tried and got this:
-
A text editor such as Emacs comes in handy here. Press F3 to begin defining a macro, Control-E to move to end of line, comma, down arrow to next line, F4 to finish macro. Then F4 repeatedly to add a comma to each successive line, and Bob's your uncle.
-
Maybe from the number of registered members for these forums? That seems to be 10000+, but I don't think that has any meaningful correlation to the number of subscribers to the email service.
-
After September 30, if a question or problem arises concerning the email forwarding service, what will be the method of contacting support? Will it still be email to QUESTONS at SPAMCOP dot NET? If there are announcements about the service, such as downtime for maintenance, or changes in functionality, where will the announcements be posted?
-
What do you mean by "I have received the Spamcop warning email" ? This page may be helpful: http://www.spamcop.net/fom-serve/cache/3.html (But note that the "Mail Service" described there is being cancelled at the end of this month.)
-
I submitted the question to QUESTIONS at SPAMCOP dot NET several days ago. I got the response "Good question. I'll talk to cisco and find out the answer." If/when I get an answer, I'll post it here.

Issues sending messages from Webmail on Firefox MAC
Dave_L replied to ob1db's topic in SpamCop Email System & Accounts
I just did a quick test, and sent myself an email message using Spamcop Webmail and Firefox 31.0 on Ubuntu 12.04.5. It worked correctly, without any error or warning messages. I don't know if that's helpful, since I'm not using a Mac. -
My personal objection to GMail is that I don't trust Google or other big businesses. They'll misuse my personal information and throw advertising at me without regard to my interests, as long as it means more money for them. Your opinion may differ.
-
The only benefit is that email forwarded will be spam checked using the Cisco Reputation system, whatever that is.
-
At least we now have an explanation for the outages. It was known that the system was going away, so there was no reason to waste resources on fixing it.
