Try changing the forwarding address to "nobody[at]null.invalid" or "nobody[at]example.com". Those are reserved non-existent email addresses.

I am already a competent spaghetti-cooker. I seek to acquire other skills, such as manufacturing ketchup, mustard, bread and other ancient crafts. The problem is that the online recipes seem targeted toward OCD personalities that like complex procedures. I'm looking for K.I.S.S. solutions.

Are there any web sites that have simple recipes for guys?
For example, if I want to make my own ketchup from scratch, using tomato paste or tomatoes, all I can find are absurdly complicated instructions that involve ten steps using twenty ingredients that I don't have and don't want. :angry:
As an analogy, you can fix almost anything with duct tape and vise grips. There must be corresponding simple techniques for making food.

Yes, that is correct. The fuel however makes no difference with your
account as it has the cesmail flag set, so the system sees and treats it
as a premium account. You'll see no change when the fuel runs out.

I don't think there are 900, much less 9,000 CESMail customers. Where did you get that number?

Maybe from the number of registered members for these forums? That seems to be 10000+, but I don't think that has any meaningful correlation to the number of subscribers to the email service.

No question that the forwarding will work, but all the spam filtering tools are gone, grey, white, black listing, being able to release mail falsely flagged as spam, being able to see what mail is flagged as spam. What's left is pretty much useless.
The only benefit is that email forwarded will be spam checked using the Cisco Reputation system, whatever that is.

At least we now have an explanation for the outages. It was known that the system was going away, so there was no reason to waste resources on fixing it.

FastMail looks significantly less costly than Hushmail, unless there are other considerations.

I've been using the SpamCop email service for so long, I can't remember how SpamCop worked before that service was available.
Was "Held Mail" an innovation of the email service, not available to reporting-only users? Or was there a way of diverting spam to a "Held Mail" area for all users?

Thunderbird Portable seems to be Windows-only. I use GNU/Linux, so that wouldn't help me. But I'm sure there are other options for Linux.
Even though I use IMAP, I didn't lose any mail. Luckily, after the last outage, I saw the posts here about lost mail, so I avoided using my local client (Thunderbird). If I hadn't seen the posts, I suppose Thunderbird would have synched with the server. But still, I do daily backups that include the Thunderbird folder, so at worst I wouldn't have lost more than 24 hours of mail.

I've been having some problems recently with email sent via Spamcop's SMTP getting delayed by several hours. The email headers indicate the delay is caused by either Spamcop or the server that receives the email from Spamcop. I'm not sure how to further isolate the cause of the problem.

I'm getting the warning message about the expired certificate too.
By the way, what's the status on this SMTP service? Is it still "beta"? Is it going to become a permanent feature?

I just got around to testing this with a few emails. It worked successfully, using Thunderbird 1.5.0.8 on Linux (Mepis 6.0). My ISP is Embarq/Earthlink. I set the port to 25, and selected "TLS, if available".

I'm not whining about Spamcop's service.
I encountered a problem with the reporting service, and came over here to see if there was any info about it. I found this thread. Since two weeks had elapsed since the problem was first reported, and the problem is still present, I posted an update.
