  1. I am reporting 1 to 5 spam emails daily where I get this reply: Witamy, dziękujemy za przesłane zgłoszenie. Thanks!

    Strange little messages don't parse

http://www.spamcop.net/mcgi?action=gettrac...rtid=6099915103 http://www.spamcop.net/mcgi?action=gettrac...rtid=6099899483 The other thing is maybe they're just phishing for addresses that don't bounce. Some of the names are close to ones that are displayed on the web site, but are still slightly incorrect. Like their scraper isn't working right. They do mimic legitimate notifications. I probably should just ignore them.
  5. I have been getting one or two of these a day to various addresses at a couple of the sites I administer. The gist of all these messages is "Will be closed due to bad weather." Sometimes the addressees are close to an actual address; sometimes they are names I don't know. They all come from 64.21.* which SpamCop can't find someone to report to. ARIN shows Net Access Corporation (NAC). The messages are all a variation on: "Early closing due to bad conditions. This will be the only notification to pattstevie[at](mydomain).com and please disregard if sent to the incorrect individual. Thank you." Is there something I don't understand? Or should I just add abuse[at]nac.net as a user notfication?

Headers report me instead of spammers

That was it. This is a low traffic web site and I had neglected to add the mailhost. Thanks for the reminder!
  7. I reported a spam emal sent to one of my email addresses, and it got reported to my ISP who told me to quit spamming or get deleted. It looks like the headers have been mangled so that it ends up pointing back to mydomain. I have substituted mydomain for my real domain name. The email to mydomain.com is forwarded to myotherdomain.com so maybe that confuses things more. (the myregisteredsite.com is original to the email.) My ISP told me to change all my email passwords, but all the email accounts on mydomain.com are forwarding accounts with no passwords. I do have a formmail form on the mydomain.com site, but I don't see that being involved. Any help would be appreciated as I don't want any spam coming from my sites or even the reputation of sending spam. I thought that maybe lines 2 and 3 were causing the problem, but I deleted them and resubmitted, but the report looked the same. Thanks for any help! Hat Check

I have just started receiving email from MyLife and found this upon attempting to unsubscribe: http://www.mylife.com (formerly Reunion.com) saying I signed up in 2004-06-03. This unsubscribe link takes you to a page where you can change your email preferences, but not remove your account. You have to sign in to do that. I doubt that I would have any more success removing my account from MyLife than I did from Reunion.com. I spent way too much time trying to get off reunion.com's web site and mailing list. Finally just disabled the email address. Now they have found my primary email address somehow. I would stay as far away from these folks as possible.

    iamjustsendingthisleter

I am starting to receive lots of messages from "iamjustsendingthisleter[at](somedomain).com". All they contain is a variation on: What's the point of this? Are they just validating addressess or what?
  10. It's all about the semicolon. All of the spam that I have had a problem with are missing the semicolon, and adding it in while manually reporting has solved the problem. Maybe a more sophisticated grep could grab the date even when the semicolon is missing, or grab it and do a semicolon insertion.

    Stock Spam

The SEC web page sez you can do this: Spams - Forward investment-related spam e-mails to enforcement[at]sec.gov. rather than filling out forms.
