    General Questions

If you report it (spam in your inbox) quick enough the Spammers 3 hour run is blocked before it completes often in seconds meaning most of spammers run hits a bit bin (or silicon hell)

    Spam originating from sina.com

I also get a lot of spamvertised web site which spamcop sends to cfc_dcy<AT>sina.com When I do check those web sites shortly after, they are down (seems they do respond?) Try SpamDeputy (Click right mouse button and save to folder) which is a VERY good Windows tool for puting headers into and it then will often give alternate abuse addresseses (although not as good as SpamCop) It can do much much more like validate email addresses as well as website
  3. That is the way I read it also? I'm saying once forwarded, ones own email client then has to POP at timed intervals regardless To POP (or IMAP) directly to pop.spamcop.net (or imap.spamcop.net)is as fast as recieving from ones provider. The advantage is less to go wrong and no disadvantage (a needless step removed) I used to forward early in the piece but found my ISP was losing email. Never lost any since directly POP SpamCop It is even better if you phase out other email addresses and just use the only email address you will ever need, your spam proof SpamCop one. Just have those existing email addresses forwarded to SpamCop (make sure they are registered with SC's "mailhosts" program) after a time you can send them to silicon heaven as they should become defunct
  4. You can pop SpamCop directly SpamCops email system is probably faster than you can receive Forwarding is not needed and removes a step that another ISP can do wrong I'm in Sydney Australia but also get mail in other countries around the Planet always found SpamCops email capable of more speed than the ISP used has (at least the speed I can receive email at)

    Mysterious silent guests

I for instance am in Sydney Australia and many SpamCop members are from verious other time zones on planet. Not always does ones computer keep SpamCop cookies so appear as a guest unless they log in That said I am also sure spammers watch what is said/writen and even scrape email addresses from here if they can (I'm reasonably sure "RT" would have the site poisoned for such spiders)

My domain is in the blocklist

Try using my Signature file to check your computers security. That IP has been taken over and nothing on it is safe

CLICK HERE FOR AntiSpyware program This program is still in BETA stage will update automaticaly Not sure of what concerns there are or how it handles cookies?

    MailWasher Pro

MailWasher is becoming outdated as a defence against spammers For around the price of MailWasher (US$30) you could get a full SpamCop email account which will not only block all spammers, but report them all as well with one, two maybe three clicks of your mouse SpamCop accurately holds all spam in a Very Easy to Report folder called VER© Only legitimate mail is downloaded to your inbox from all your existing accounts SpamCop is the only email address you will ever need

    email to nepalese embassy blocked

Blank subject, blank TO:, blank body:

The "To" feild is empty if address is in "BCC" field, Subjects for email are not required There are a combination of reasons for blank email Dumb SpamWare not working Testing for bounces (dictionary attacks) Virus sent email (not always with a body) The Hijacked computer was shut down in mid spam run If in doubt do not use SpamCop to report spam however you can submit a personal report and SpamCop will give you the reporting address (In blank body type "Message Body Empty"

    External POP Server access

spamcop.net]Good Site Thanks entered my email address seems perfect
  12. JT is being a bit slow in using Bonded senders Whitelist? I believe there are other whitelists now as well To me it is the way things will go in that mail will only be accepted from those servers registered on a Whitelist (which will have conditions applied to keep that server whitelisted) I suspect if you get to many features like whitelisting our own IP it could slow down SpamCops mail server? If SpamCops mail hosts are not picking up your mailhost it suggests to me your provider is slack and needs to fix
  13. petzl

    What to do about viruses?

You can use SpamCop to get the abuse desk reporting address of the email virus source and send in a personal report (Do not report Viruses through SpamCop as Viruses are not spam)

    Spammers Have SpamCop's Number?

If spammers are going to lenghts to produce URL's that SpamCop cannot identify I would say reporting them is a must do If Chinese authorities do do something, it is usually pretty inhumane I like to see someone worse off than me I can do with a good laugh SpamDeputy usually handles/resolves links SpamCop cannot (works well with Outlook Express)

    Too many email responses!

Rarely does spam get to my inbox. Your blacklist and Whitelist if used intelligently also become effective spam tools, for instance a lot of spam in e-mail address has/ends in "cn" or "br" as well as "hotmail" "msn" having these in your blacklist acts as a filter. Specific addresses from "cn", 'br" etc can be in your whitelist which overrides the blacklist. In your white list you can also have specific domains like "xtra.co.nz" which allows all e-mail regardless in the 'from" address to pass. If becomes problematic you can easily remove it. As you have a SpamCop address I suggest you also setup an imap connection with your email client. This makes it easy to shift spam with your mouse to your VER folder for reporting and even whitelisting. (There is no need to have the IMAP set-up polled)

    Spammers Have SpamCop's Number?

While I can with IE 6 see the site a text browser gives "403 forbiden" this does stop SpamCop going any further? yxcxdjceazdt.k5medical.com 202.102.230.36 403 Forbiden However you can report these sights yourself Reporting addresses: abuse[at]chinanet.cn.net abuse[at]cnc-noc.net

    Too many email responses!

IMO the time is gone that one can just rely on reporting spam Nowadays one has to armor plate their email address and the best Amor plating is the one provided by a SpamCop email account. This allows all spam that is in your spam (held) folder is easily reported in one click of your mouse. To do it other ways is becoming labour intensive Although I still reserve this method for spam I find offensive or problematic. For me very little spam gets to my inbox. Also with zero false positives going to my Very Easy Reporting (VER) folder.

    Blocked Email

Yes it would help if you could provide the IP you believe is blocked or better still headers If you are blocked it often means your computer has been hijacked and it is in your interests to read my signature and use Virus detectors Firewall (ideally both hardware and Software type) as well as scan with "Spy Bot" detecting software like Ad-Aware and or SpyBot S&D as well as getting latest windows updates

    MailWasher & Spamcop

While MailWasher is a fine program. For its "Pro" price one can get a FULL SpamCop email address and get FULL POWER & VERY accurate spam filtering backed up by SpamCop Email & VER® (Very Easy Reporting) from the fastest mail servers on this planet. SpamCop will reliably retrieve email from as many addresses as you have and only allow legitimate email to your inbox (at least this is my and most's case) YES there is much much more! Aside from putting money SpamCops way you get every email virus filtered and can use without fear your email address. Sign up and effectively immunise yourself against Spammers (spammers only end up having email spam immediately bitbinned as they try) Spammers effectively just end up in a sin bin (attack being the best defence) to be reported & blocked . That’s while they try to send spam, not days later

How did they do it to me??

[ spam is traced back to the Computer/ISP it came from. Using a source ip address like 219.249.74.74 not an email address READ MY SIGNATURE and check your computer all links offer free programs to do this and use a firewall If your URL is being"Joe Jobbed" your (web site) hosting company would be the ones you should contact

    rbl

There is nothing to complain about except for the ignorance of RFC-Ignorant BL. Who by the way bounces all email sent from anyone with a legitimate spamcop email addresss? Yet they do not list themselves? SpamCop gives a legitimate reply for and to every "Postmaster<at>spamcop<dot>net" address it recieves via a challenge response. In this response a real persons email contact address is given Most as in major majority ISP's just bit bin messages sent to postmaster I have to ask why do they (RFC-Ignorant BL.) just falsley list fully compliant SpamCop If SpamCop just simply bit binned all email to "Postmaster<at>spamcop<dot>net" you are saying that would be compliant?

    HELP PLEASEEEEEE!

If you use outlook express just highlight as many spams as you have then select "forward as attachment" to your super secret reporting SpamCop email address Even better is to pay the US$30 per annum for a SpamCop email address which keeps your inbox clean and spammers put in a "Very Easy to Report" (VER) held folder. SpamCop the only email address you will EVER need
  23. Just sign up for a US$30 per annum SpamCop email account which will accurately separate the spam. Effectively allowing only legitimate email into your inbox. Your existing email addresses can all be forwarded (best option) to SpamCop or you can have SpamCop "POP" (up to 10) individual accounts which are then checked for spam and Viruses If you wish to you can "Very easily Report (VER) at a click of mouse, all spam that has been sorted to your held folder. MW as a program is nowhere as effective as a REAL SpamCop email address! The only email address you will ever need

DOES THE SPAMM EVER STOP OR WHAT???

Just sign up for a US$30 per annum SpamCop email account which will accurately separate the spam. Effectively allowing only legitimate email into your inbox. Your existing email addresses can all be forwarded (best option) to SpamCop or you can have SpamCop "POP" (up to 10) individual accounts which are then checked for spam and Viruses If you wish to you can "Very easily Report (VER) at a click of mouse, all spam that has been sorted to your held folder. This often results in Spammers being fined and or Jailed. It most certainly gets their spam run stopped as they try to send spam, and not after it is sent. SpamCops blocklist or SCBL will activate in minutes stopping spammies 5 or more hour spam run allowing those who use our members list to bit bin it before it gets to their inbox. Becareful that what you report is spam as SpamCop will fne and or suspend one for deliberatly filing false abuse reports
  25. Another major reason to have a competent provider yourself that does offer effective spam filtering The best and only is a SpamCop email account which keeps spam out of your inbox and spammers in the dunny ready for flushing. Very rare does one get to your inbox and in unlikely event they do easy task to full report websites as well (and I follow the links but use a safe browser like "Net.Demon" To ensure your own windows computer is secure check my signature also consider saving ALL your passwords to a "PassWord Saver" program. Spyware looks for your passwords giving access to your provider and other info you need to keep secure (Bank accounts etc) I recommend you (further) run such password software from a USB removable hard drive
