  1. Hi all I am using a small Python scri_pt to extract spam from my GMail account through IMAP and pass it on using SMTP to SpamCop. Unfortunately Google and my own ISP are putting lower and lower limits to how many mails I am allowed to send and now I am hitting the wall quicker than I am able to report the spam flowing in! :-( Is the any way I can send the spam directly to mx.spamcop.net? I have tested and mx.spamcop.net does not support authentication and don't allow relaying - very understandable! :-) Please what to do? Andrew

    Error in sending your request

Hm, how do I get them to fix their system? I am fully aware I have entered the information - I only tried (unsuccessfully) to munge the information when I posted the e-mail in this forum!
  3. I get the e-mails below almost on a daily basis. I don't know if this problem is similar to Steven Underwood's: Reporting Site problems, or just me??? or it is something totally different. It looks like spamc[at]embratel.net.br has problems with the (apparently internal) reporting data and they tell me to "Please report this to your system support people" - well definitely not my support people (that's me ), maybe SpamCop (this post) or should this go to embratal? FAQ: POP'ing GMAIL spam

  6. Well I have one question to JT! Are SA tweaked or when was the filters last updated? I would love the SA level to be raised by a factor 10 so I may be able to make use of the SA level! Now having it set to 1 just makes it a flag instead of a adjustable fence!
  7. SA = 1! And I receive between 1000 and 2000 spam mails every day and about 20 spam mails get through. So our procentage are about the same - but the spammers are just getting better and better. SA is as low as possible! 0! Zero! Nil!
  8. Sure. The messages that get throught usually get a SA score of zero but are easy (for me) to detect because they are often in Russian (or similar language). Here are a few examples: http://www.spamcop.net/sc?id=z1493510951z5...1f3ca435187f6az http://www.spamcop.net/sc?id=z1493510953z3...95d0e06bdb87c5z http://www.spamcop.net/sc?id=z1493510954z6...fbc2fcb13f020dz Unfortunately that is not an option because I forward my mails through SpamCop.
  9. Well no because I do not know what is required to get better spam protection. I am asking you and is hoping that SpamCop will be enhanced with whatever is needed to raise the level of protection.
  10. I would love to use the greylisting but the e-mails are forwarded through SpamCop from my private domain to Gmail!!! I was forced to disable the catch-all several years ago - after receiving several thousand spam e-mails every day! Well I don't want to introduce yet another server into the chain! :-) It is complicated enough already! That is what I am hoping for.
  11. More and more spam is getting through! In SpamCop webmail I have set the SpamAssasin limit to 2 (setting it to 1 only cathes legit mail) and all DNS blacklists has been selected and still more and more spam mail is getting through! Well I do receive more and more spam so it is not because SpamCop is loosing the battle but the bars have to be raised? What can I do?

    FAQ: POP'ing GMAIL spam

Prepend your GMail address with recent: and you will only download the last 30 days of messages. Ref: https://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer....mp;answer=47948 Andrew
  13. I think several spam system has been having fun with my e-mails because after fiddling with it some more it finally (seems to be) working.
  14. I am setting up yet another SpamCop account so the process should be straight forward and even though I am not a SpamCop guru I (should) understand the basics - but for one reason or another I fail - and I don't know why!?! I am able to send e-mails to the newly created SpamCop account but when I go into SpamCop Email System Preferences and enter a Forwarding address the mails goes into void! I've tried several different address but all e-mails send to the SpamCop account disapears!?! I am able to send e-mails from the account without problems and I have several other SpamCop accounts which works perfectly with a forwarding address!?! HELP!!! Thanks!
