THIS makes things SO much easier! Thank you!

    Webmail HTML

It isn't complicated. I just want to be able to see the text of messages in webmail without having to go another step to view them when they're anything other than straight text. And surely a mailer-daemon should be sending out nothing but straight text. That's all.

Understood, sorry. Where does one turn on the sidebar? I've looked at Folder and Display Options, and have the two "yes" options selected but have never seen a sidebar.

Under Message Viewing ::Block images in HTML messages unless they are specifically requested? ::Automatically show images in HTML messages when the sender is in my addressbook? ::How do you want to display attachments? ::::[Display in body of message] The Help for Preferences: HTML Image Replacement says, For HTML messages displayed inline,...," which I take to mean that there inline HTML is assumed to work, at least by the person who wrote this Help text." The Help for Preferences: HTML Image Replacement also refers to inline HTML viewing. Apparently there isn't an "on/off" option as such, but the system does appear to support this. Sometimes. It works for message previews. I want it to work for the messages themselves, why not?

    Webmail HTML

Nope, that's not what I'm saying at all. I'm saying I would like webmail to display the text of all html messages instead of me having to download about half of them. Yes, there is. I don't understand *why* it is there since I *do* have the option set to display html inline. I don't need to see the original html, just the text, which is what I understand this option is for.

    Options - After Emptying Trash

Actually this is not what is happening. No matter _what_ folder I am in when I empty the trash, I end up with a blank page after emptying. I get the normal stuff at the top of the page, the the message "All messages in trash have been deleted" or words to that effect, and then nothing. If I'm in the inbox when I empty the trash, I'd like to see the inbox's list of contents without having to refresh. I'm happy to "stay in" or "be returned to" whatever folder I started out in, but it seems the system should be able to show the contents of that folder, whatever it was, instead of a blank page.

OK, want an example? The message just before this one had a problem. It came from MAILER-DAEMON[at]c60.cesmail.net, which must be a pretty dumb "client" since it cannot build an email correctly.

    Webmail HTML

I know how it works. The only "danger" in opening an HTML message, as opposed to opening any other message, would be in processing the code (e.g., iFrames) and displaying images, both of which I've already said I agree should not be done. There's plenty of tech out there to strip HTML and images before displaying email text. And the spam argument is quite frankly beyond me. I get just as much text-only spam as I do HTML and HTML/TEXT and multi-part spam. There's no reason I am aware of why your concerns and mine cannot both be fully satisfied.

    Webmail HTML

I am not actually asking an addition but for a fix of what I perceive is something that is not working. I don't see how it would add any load to the system. The email is already there - it's just wrapped up in an attachment instead of being displayed on the screen. And as I mentioned I couldn't care less about images - just the text. I use Thunderbird at home but webmail at work, so I have the benefits (and burdens) of both methods.

    Automatic Signin

Can't we just use a cookie or a brownie or something?

    Automatic Signin

When we are in webmail and we press the "Report spam" button - would it be possible to be logged in automatically w/o having to re-enter credentials? Pretty please??

    Moving Buttons

I'd really like to be able to customize the webmail buttons. Like "Compose" instead of "New Message," though changing labels isn't high on my list. Moving the buttons WOULD be nice though. So I could put "New Message" on the other side of "Empty Trash" and "Held Mail" all the way to the right, that sort of thing.
  14. We currently see subjected bolded and in blue on the held page. It would be helpful to me to see the email addresses in a different color as well, e.g. red. This would be very helpful in making it easy to spot mail from probably-valid senders so as to avoid reporting in error.

    Held Mail Enhancement Request

Sorry - I know this is the wrong place, but on the held mail page, are the "report spam" links supposed to be at the bottom of the page as well? At work, using Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.6) Gecko/20070725 Firefox/2.0.0.6 the do not so appear. But at home, possibly using a different version of FF, they do. Which is correct? Should I file a bug with Mozilla?

    Links to Forums

On the problem report page, where you compose the email, would love to have a link to http://forum.spamcop.net/forums . On the webmail client, would love to have a direct button to http://forum.spamcop.net/forums . On the help link on http://webmail.spamcop.net/horde/imp/mailb...D=empty_mailbox - when that window comes up would love to have a link at the top to http://forum.spamcop.net/forums . On http://mailsc.spamcop.net/help.shtml would the text for the link to "Forums" and the text that says "Index to all forums" are confusing. At least the target for teh one that says "Forums" should also include a link to http://forum.spamcop.net/forums . This would only require adding just a little text to that section of the page at http://mailsc.spamcop.net/help.shtml .

    What is Horde?
  18. Can't imagine anyone reading email on a client like Outlook. For my part, I use Thunderbird. Which is a GOOD email client. Not complaining - Just pulling your chain. But I will definitely give greylisting a shot. Sounds like a useful and desired improvement.

    Options - After Emptying Trash

Wazoo, I'm not sure what issue dbiel is raising. I just want to know what option to set so that when I empty the trash I get returned to the inbox. As I tried to say before, I usually do this after pressing the held mail "icon" and then selecting the spam messages, then the link to "report as spam." Then I empty the trash. I'd like to be returned to the inbox, not to the now-empty held mail page (not a "blank screen" as previously mis-stated). I don't have any empty trash links at the bottom right and -UNFORTUNATELY- no longer have the "report as spam", etc., links at the bottom of the held mail page where they used to be. Using Firefox. I only use IE when a site requires a browser which is not standards-compliant.

    Options - After Emptying Trash

I just press the "Empty Trash" icon. Usually after processing held mail. Always before, no matter where I was, emptying the trash in this fashion returned me to the inbox. Not 'ny more! I just end up with a blank screen. (I almost always only empty trash in web mail just after processing held mail from within webmail.)

    Held Mail Enhancement Request

I know. And I imagine it would be a very simple change to make. Ironport should note, however, that even deprecated features may still be well-loved by its customers and thus deserving of attn.

    Ranting about something???

Lemme see if I got this right. A "spamvertized site" is any website referenced in an email message. Like AOL.COM or PLEASETAKEALLMYMONEYTONIGERIA.COM. The site could be a legitimate site or not. The nameserver is the server that connects the name to an IP address. If the nameserver removes the site, the site becomes orphaned, homeless, no known address, severed from the 'net. The question is, given the way these sites could be displayed in the email message, I might not be able to tell whether the site is a legitmate one, not involved in sending the spam nor really benefitting from it, or if it is not. So, one cannot just use complainterator willy-nilly, right? You have to be careful, right? Perhaps that is one of the reasons spamcop did not want to adopt it.
