CatchAll Account
A CatchAll Account is an e-mail account that accepts anything in front of the @Domain part of the e-mail address. In the days before
spam, this was a normal mode of most all Domain / web-site settings. Now it's more advised to actually define 'real' e-mail accounts to be used by that Domain and reject e-mail sent to non-existent accounts. This is sometimes an issue with various web-hosting plans that may limit the number of e-mail accounts that can be used, but there should normally be enough available to handle things like info@, sales@, webmaster@,etc.
The
SpamCop E-mail Account uses what could be called a modified catch all addressing format based on each valid e-mail address. Adding any valid e-mail syntax followed by the plus "+" sign followed by your valid email address will create an e-mail address that will automatically drop into your "
SpamCop" Inbox. This is also referred to as
disposable e-mail addresses. This is not technically speaking a catch all account, but does function the same way, as it accepts anything in front of the
+ValidEmailAddress@SpamCop.net part of the complete e-mail address.
