Forward and Forward as Attachment - is there a difference?
There are significant differences between how clicking on
Forward or using
Forward as an Attachment works.
The standard email forward cannot be used to submit
spam to
SpamCop for
reporting; while using forward as an attachment can be used in most cases. Most email clients follow the standard email protocol for forwarding as an attachment, which preserves the original message intact, including all original headers. One notable exception is Microsoft Outlook, (not to be confused with
Microsoft Outlook Express, which can be used without any problem) as Microsoft has chosen to create their own standard, which does NOT preserve the original headers making it impossible for the
SpamCop Parser to properly process the headers to determine the source of the
spam and what addresses
reports should be sent to.
