How do I register to use the SpamCop Wiki

The SpamCop Wiki is open as a read only tool to all interested persons with out any need to register.
The very openness of the Wiki and the continued expansion in hacking has forced us to terminate the open enrollment / registration in the SpamCop Wiki. At this time, we are accepting requests from anyone who is interested in contributing to the SpamCop Wiki database. Anyone who has shown a previous level of involvement in either the SpamCop Forums or the SpamCop Newsgroups will be granted edit access to the Wiki. Those who have not shown any previous contributions to the Forums or Newsgroups may be granted a more limited access, which would include the ability to add comments. That access level will automatically be increase based on displaying a real desire to contribute useful information to the Wiki.

Note, the purpose of the SpamCop Wiki is to provide a database of available information related to SpamCop and its various tools and components. It is not designed to be a new tool to provide interactive questions and answers. For those needing additional help not found in the Wiki we suggest registering for and posting questions to either the SpamCop Newsgroups or the SpamCop Forums which are both better equipped to provide specific answers to your questions. Please note that the both the Newsgroups and Forums are peer based, that is to say that they are not run by paid staff. (Note: this also applies to this Wiki.) They both find their strength in the dedication of volunteers who have chosen to share their knowledge gain in using the SpamCop tools with other users who are seeking help. Those posting in the Forums and/or Newsgroups come from various backgrounds and with various levels of knowledge and experience. They are NOT trained customer service representatives. The SpamCop services, many of which are free, and the rest of which are priced so as to simply help cover the actual costs of providing the services, do not allow for the development of a staff of trained customer service representatives. If what you need is a lot of hand holding that would require one on one customer service type help, then the SpamCop tools are probably not for you. The other point to remember is that the SpamCop Forums and Newsgroups are public access support venues and any information posted there is available for all to see. Take care in the extent of personal data that you choose to post, but remember that failing to post any identifying information can make providing help impossible.

But now, back to the mechanics of how to register to be able to edit, comment or add pages to the SpamCop Wiki. Due to the problem of making the registration information available to those who actually desire to contribute, while keeping it out of the hands of those who only what to undermine or hack the Wiki; we are starting off with the following requirement: Registration in the SpamCop Forums. SpamCop Newsgroups users should not feel that this is an attempt to undermine the newsgroups; and if they have another why of communication with Wazoo, they should feel free to do so. For those who have registered in the SpamCop Forums, simply send an PM personal message to either Dbiel or Wazoo (the current admins of the SpamCop Wiki) and we will reply back with your user name and temporary password. Note: clicking of either name will automatically open up a PM session if you are currently logged into the SpamCop Forums, or will give you the opportunity to log in; and if not currently registered, provides a link to the registration process Register a new account. After logging into the Wiki, simply change your password and verify you email address. We suggest using a disposable email address, as the Wiki is not 100% secure. (Though noting that 'this' site has experienced none of the problems that the developer's site has experienced over the last few years <g>)

NOTE: 'Disposable' does not mean 'Fake' ... Accounts found to have an invalid e-mail address will be deleted.
