How To Format a Question or Reply
One problem with the
SpamCop Forum is that all questions and replies in a given topic are listed in date order sequence in the default view, the outline view does provide a
newsgroup type listing. The following example may help to keep our questions and replies in a "threaded" format making them easier to follow. The actual code will be shown first followed by the rendered version of the code.
----This is my question. MyName 11Feb2006
~&First Reply YourName 12Feb2006
~~&Reply to First Reply This reply sample is longer to show how additional lines of copy will be displayed and to also not let anyone think that all questions and replies my be only one line in length. The lenght of you question and reply is only limited by the need.
~~& If you decide to use more than one paragraph, remember to start the each paragraph with the same positioning code. Excessively long replies may be turned into a separate page with a link to that page included here. YourName 15Feb2006
~~&Second Reply to the First Reply. If you are adding a reply that follows a long reply, you may want to add a blank line to clearly separate your reply from the previous reply. YourName 6Jun2006
~~~&Reply to the Previous Reply YourName 22Feb2006
~&Second Reply YourName 13Feb2006
~&Third Reply YourName 1Mar2006
~~&Reply to Third Reply YourName 8Mar2006
This is my question.
- Reply to the Previous Reply YourName 22Apr2006
- Second Reply YourName 13Feb2006
- Third Reply YourName 1Mar2006
Note: Spaces at the beginning of a paragraph are automaticly deleted by this application. The above code includes an example.
All new questions should be separated from the previous and following question by a solid dividing line which coded by "4 hyphens" and should conclude with the author's
WikiName and date written.
Insert your reply/question where you think it fits best. Don't be surprised if someone comes along and moves it somewhere else. That's what a Wiki is all about.
Newsgroup users will be familiar with this type of ordering of questions and replies.
If you have a better way of organizing and formating questions and replies, please feel free to post your example here.
