Most recent edit on 2009-05-25 20:20:14 by DbieL [Updating email address and added the forward as attachment option as being a better choice]

Additions:
SpamCop reporters can use the SpamCop parser to automatically forward the spam reports to KnujOn updating their reporting preferences under Report Handling Options --> Public standard report recipients and adding either your personal paid KnujOn reporting address or the free reporting address: nonregistered@coldrain.net. Note: you must be logged into your SpamCop reporting account for this option to work and you must check the box next to the nonregistered@coldrain.net address on the reporting screen. If you use the email link to finish the reporting process and you are not currently logged in, simple click on "log in" link at the top of the report screen.
But since the SpamCop parser does not deal with the body of the spam message in any great detail, a better approach would be to use the forward as attachment method, sending the attached spam messages to both SpamCop and KnujOn.

Additions:
KnujOn is an anti-spam web site that permits ordinary Internet users to forward the spam they receive to be processed and used with the goal of reducing the current massive spam problem. In many ways it is very similar to SpamCop, and in other ways it is very different. It does not attempt to compete with SpamCop but rather to work hand in hand. SpamCop's primary goal is to stop spam at its injection point. KnujOn's goal is to remove the profit incentive by attacking those who attempt to benefit from the spam.

While SpamCop requires full and complete headers to do its job, KnujOn does not even look at the headers. It focuses on the body of the message and works to put an end to those who attempt to get rich at the expense others.
Both SpamCop and KnujOn provide both free and paid options for reporting spam.
