Microsoft Upgrades
Have you considered upgrading to Microsoft's new Vista operating system or to Internet Explorer 7?
Before doing so, be sure to check out compatibility issues will all of the important software you are currently using.
After upgrading you may be shocked to find that the software, you had previously used with no problems, does not run at all under the new Microsoft versions.
The following quote is from the IS department where I work. It probably does not directly affect anyone else BUT, the underlying issue of backward compatibility with proprietary software may impact many more individuals.
Some of you may be wondering if you should upgrade your personal systems to Microsoft Vista. There is enough information within Cenveo that indicates such an upgrade would cripple your ability to drive Hagen OA and various Cenveo websites. The same is true for Internet Explorer 7.0 on the widely used Microsoft XP platform.
If you intend to use your personal system to access Hagen OA, Hyperion, ADP Payroll, Outlook Web Access, do NOT upgrade to either Internet Explorer 7.0 or MS Vista. It will be several months before the applications have been fixed or replaced to be compatible with these new Microsoft releases.
So a word of warning: Check out compatibility issues BEFORE you upgrade.
