SpamCop Newsgroups

The SpamCop Newsgroups are one of the oldest methods of getting information about SpamCop. They are still very much alive and active. They are accessed using any standard newsreader. They may be found at "news://news.spamcop.net/" Copying the address and pasting it into your browser will open up your default newsreader. (See SpamCopNewsgroupsHowToUse)

The SpamCop.net newsgroups currently consist of the following groups:

Note: these newsgroups are explained in more detail at SpamCopNewsgroupsHowToUse

As with most newsgroups, older messages are not availble from the News Server. They are archived in a separate file that is usually accessable via a browser.
The SpamCopNewsgroups have historically been archived at/on the same server. Unfortunately this archive is no longer actively doing its job of archiving as of basically 1 June 2006. The developement of a replacement archive was begun by WazoO and went on line on 1 Dec 2006. Except for posts that were copied forward to allow for their preservation; any posts between 1 June 2006 and 1 Dec 2006 have been lost.

WOW - wonder why this never came up before.
It looks to me that this is more of a mirror rather than an archive.
I was only able to access the first page of the SpamCop archive which indicated only 10 pages. The newest entry was only about 24 hours old.
It is definately a good way to read the newsgroups using a browser instead of a newsreader but keeping in mind that it is not real time.

I found it on the newsgroup. Looks someone started archiving the posts only recently.

Personal belief, Dimitry is going to pull the plug when he gets his next ISP bill. Most of the links on that page are non-functional, although there is a "Post your stuff here" box, it also is non-functional .... I'm personally thinking that this is a 'personal' web-site set up for this person's convenience. E-mail has not been answered.
