SpamvertizedURL
A
URL embedded as an HTML
hyperlink (also known as an HTML anchor tag) within
spam which navigates to a web page that contains advertizing content.
A bit different;
A
URI /
URL embedded into a spam e-mail. It may be included in clear text or it may be buried behind HTML encoding, such that with insecure handling of e-mail, one
URI may be displayed but the actual
URL takes one to a different web-page entirely.
Examples:
- Including a stock ticker/performance chart on a Yahoo business page ... Yahoo would be an Innocent Bystander.
- Displaying a 'clickable link' to PayPal but having the HTML encoded to actually send one's brower to the ScumSuckers web-site, which probably "looks" just like the PayPal web-page being spoofed.
