Secure Login

Recommended Posts

I understand Secure Login (i.e., some sort of protection for userID/password and the authentication process as a whole) is provided for webmail. How can I turn that on for my Spamcop e-mail account (1) for webmail and (2) for POP (to the extent POP supports this)?

The most important issue for me is webmail. Without some secure mechanism for authentication, I cannot really use webmail from public computers.

Thanks,

Dieter Schlegel

Webmail

(note the "s")

As for POP, it depends on the client, but there should just be a box or two to check to enable it. Its pretty simple in Thunderbird or Mozilla. I use IMAP from Thunderbird and Mozilla, so I can't tell you the POP specifics right now (not that they's help you if you're usign OE or O)

It used to be a pain in Eudora to do it (I don't know anymore since I switched to Mozilla), but here's the instructions for IMAP with Eudora:

I use Eudora 6.1 (beta version) for SSL access in public hotspots. Though there are a few bugs in the software related to IMAP settings, the Spamcop side works well. If you need help with settings, please reply here.
