Mailchimp reports leaked to spammer

Recommended Posts

I reported spam coming via spammer-for-hire Mailchimp using the standard web reporting form.

A couple of hours later I got a nastygram from Mailchimp's spammer-customer.

Beware that Spamcop reports even though munged have tracking bugs embedded and the reporting address passes the complaints to Mailchimp which then passes them to their spamming customers for listwashing, all the time identifying the victim.

...Very good point! Additional sources of information around here may be found in:

For other places, type '"web bug" OR webbug' in the text box between the white button labeled "Search for -->" and the blue button labeled "GO" near the top of most any SpamCop Forum page, then click one of the buttons.

Please send me the details of that report so I can set SpamCop to not send those reports anymore.

As Don said, MC shouldn't get reports and we'll fix that.

But I also know some people over at Mailchimp and I am confident that they don't want their customers sending nastygrams. If you're willing to send me a copy of the mail you received with full headers, I'll make sure the abuse guy at MC sees it.

(you can forward it to deputies[at]spamcop.net).
