mrmaxx 0 Posted October 8, 2011 (edited) Hey, folks... thought I'd mention that I scanned my PC at home with Microsoft's Standalone System Scanner this morning and it found OpenCandy which Microsoft's scanner labels as "Adware." After reading what it does, I, too, think it's adware/spyware (spyware because it reports back on whether or not you choose to install the 3rd party app it suggests while you're installing the software you originally wanted.) Just thought I'd pass that along. Here's a couple different sites that discuss this: Cranial Soup and Dave's Computer Tips Both have serious reservations about it, but you should make up your own mind. Moretti 0 Posted July 22, 2014 Opencandy is active again this year. I would suggest using something like adwcleaner or remove it yourself: http://soft2secure.com/knowledgebase/opencandy
