Farelf
The owner of Lavabit tells us that he's stopped using email and if we knew what he knew, we'd stop too. There is no way to do Groklaw without email. ... http://www.groklaw.net/article.php?story=20130818120421175 Certainly Pamela lacks the resilience of the common herd (no disparagement intended, it's used as a technical term) but for those of us in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand - and no doubt many other places - it is a sobering assessment. Well, most of us have the luxury of not being so reliant on e-mail and good luck to any agency intensively tapping the stream because we know what they will mostly get is ... spam. But, with the enormously capable "AI" facility for the Bayserian probability analysis of massive data sets now routinely deployed (even commercially, think Google and others - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eq69pOGxOYQ), I suppose there is no hiding in the herd. Not if we communicate inconveniencing thoughts or have money in our accounts.
