...and I thought I was still a newbie...

You are correct - an obnoxious newbie.

...Please avoid gratuitous ad-hominem attacks (especially in threads I start! :) )

...Thanks.

...This doesn't make sense unless you know that I originally posted this as a reply in a thread I started: User Level: What's After Level 3?.

Perhaps he thought it was humorous <snip>

...If dra007's hypothesis is correct, then I apologize to yourbuddy but request that (s)he use an appropriate emoticon :) or <g> to reflect humor in future. :)

Perhaps he thought it was humorous... But you never know, he also claims a degree in psychology..If time goes by we may find out that he also plays the violin..

Still can't read, can you.

I said Degree in Business with a minor in Psychology.

I can understand you making fun of education or knowledge.

You seem to have a natural aversion to it.

Gratuitous?

I thought he had asked for it :D

This is not the first and definately not the last forum/newsgroup you have made a fool out of yourself in. It will not be long before your name is added to the internet kook museum.

good luck.

...Perhaps so, perhaps not, but certainly not in this thread. :) <g>

I thought dra007 statements moronic (not ironic),  ;)

and that always makes me laugh (I like the clowns).  :D

...But I think he was suggesting that your post was ironic, not he being ironic. :) <g>

...It's fun to watch two clever people (yeah, I know, each of you thinks there's only one <g>) rag each other ... at first I found it alarming but now I'm treating it as friends engaging in good-natured ribbing (don't tell me you're not friends -- I know that but I like to imagine it!). :D <big g>

Perhaps you thought it ironic and irony makes you laugh?

Perhaps, only in this case irony would have to be drastically redefined! :)

PS.

(don't tell me you're not friends -- I know that but I like to imagine it!)

...there you go, now you are redefining friendship! I still like a good laugh! :D

...Naw, I'm an economist by academic training ... we make lots of counter-factual assumptions! :) <g>

In a "micro" sense, he's an irritant (like a small bug) ;)

In a "macro" sense, he's just part of the mass of nonsense :D

No, read the Profile.

Degrees in Business (minor in Psychology), Law (specializing in Contract Law)

and Engineering (specializing in Industrial Engineering), but Economics is of great

interest to me (took several courses in it) - a bit of a "dismal science" that adjusts

readily to facts - when the theory doesn't match the actual events as they occur,

but a "noble science" when it comes to the hypothetical inference for evaluation.

If you want a "friendly" disagreement, ask two Economists the same question.

My "business" is actually that of "actuarial science".

...Why two when one is sufficient?

..."On the one hand, thus and so might happen; on the other hand, such and such might happen." It was replies like this from his Chief Economic Advisor about the effects of each proposed new policy that led the President to wish for a one-armed economist! :D <big g>
