spam Reporting?

Recommended Posts

Is there a service that reports filtered spam like SpamCop? The services I've seen just have a spam folder that must be emptied, but with no reporting.

Also, I am still unclear about SpamCop's service after the change: I understand that they will forward my incoming e-mail, and they say they will continue to filter it. Does that mean that they filter out and report the spam and forward on the legit e-mail only?

My understanding is that incoming email detected as spam will be discarded (not held, not reported). Other email will be forwarded.

Are you sure? http://mailsc.spamcop.net/reportheld?action=heldlog should still work as before, no?

From comments in other threads, no. http://.spamcop.net will continue but all mailsc stuff will vanish.

The held folder would be "storing mail for you"

Minus that spurious dot....sorry I meant: http://www.spamcop.net/reportheld?action=heldlog

My understanding was the mail side of things is vanishing but the SC side isn't.

Is the Held tab there vanishing too so one wont be able to mark something as clean? If it is vanishing then maybe I should reconsider forwarding all mail to them for filtering and switch it to forwarding to Fastmail as in my plan B. No Held tab would mean no whitelisting or generally OK-ing mail that has been stopped in error.

OK am assuming that's the case and have stopped forwarding my ISP's webmail to SC servers altogether and it goes now to Fastmail.

That means the only rare time I use SC will be if I forward spam to it for checking using my special address. As I haven't done that in years, I doubt it'll be much used.

A shame to lose such a good service. I'd love to know the reasoning behind the decision.
