Dave_L
Are there any web sites that have simple recipes for guys? For example, if I want to make my own ketchup from scratch, using tomato paste or tomatoes, all I can find are absurdly complicated instructions that involve ten steps using twenty ingredients that I don't have and don't want. As an analogy, you can fix almost anything with duct tape and vise grips. There must be corresponding simple techniques for making food.
turetzsr
       Here's one: Ingredients: Water Spaghetti Preparation: Pour water into a pot that will hold at least twice as much water as needed to completely submerge the spaghetti. Bring water to a rapid boil. Add spaghetti. Return to boil. Cook for another eight minutes or until it has reached desired level of softness (taste some to test it). Turn off heat. Drain spaghetti as thoroughly as possible. Add seasoning and spices to taste. Spaghetti sauce, either store-bought or homemade, onion (white, green, sweet, powdered), garlic powder, cheese are popular options. <g>
Dave_L
I am already a competent spaghetti-cooker. I seek to acquire other skills, such as manufacturing ketchup, mustard, bread and other ancient crafts. The problem is that the online recipes seem targeted toward OCD personalities that like complex procedures. I'm looking for K.I.S.S. solutions.
