Hi,

We received a new ip block that is listed on APEWS, (apews.org)

Entry matching your Query: E-1069084

162.218.228.0/22

CASE: C-258

Spambots, zombies, contaminated CIDR, bad reputation provider

History:

Entry created 2014-02-08

We only leased Ips from 162.218.228.65 -162.218.228.69

While reading the apews.org FAQ found out that we had to publish the request for delisting on a public forum and mention the case history, The site pointed to this forum.

We assumed this is the way to ask for removal. We would like to try this before returning the ips to our Colocation provider

We did not own the ips on february so we do not know what listed the ips.

regards

Rodrigo O

There is no connection between SpamCop.net and APEWS. Perhaps the APEWS FAQ has been misunderstood? (See Q/A 36 & 41 in particular).

Please read our sticky note on the subject

...FYI, you posted to the "How to use .... Instructions, Tutorials > SpamCop Forum", which is described in the Forum menu as "System parts & Functions not fully explained under an existing Help menu / option .... Questions still needed to be asked about How to use/do something are to be posted into that function's Forum section." Since your post does not meet those criteria, I have taken the liberty of moving it to this Forum, "SpamCop Lounge," where it is a more appropriate fit.

...How i ask apews removal? ...

Hi emiklos,

We don't know but we see from the APEWS FAQ

Publish your error report complete with relevant email headers including your IP address so that an Administrator can find it. If your IP address is in a bad neighborhood (CIDR), inform your Internet Service Provider (ISP). There are positive results for some who published here.
- where here is http://apews-user.blogspot.com/

Apparently only the network owner can request removal - see Answer 42 in the APEWS FAQ page.

E-436139

CASE: C-1404

ip address: 114.141.200.197

Hello, was hoping to get some assistance as our ip address has been listed on APEWS. It was caused by a 3rd party web developer who created a site in wordpress which was using our mail server to authenticate and relay their web forms. Their site was compromised, and they were the source of the spam coming through our server. We have removed the site and email accounts from our severs, but are getting limited email traffic due to this entry on APEWS Could this entry please be removed.

Thankyou for your assistance.

ip:106.187.48.161

please remove it.

Thanks.

Thanks to previous respondents.

We resent posters presuming, against all advice, to use our forums as a public noticeboard for the Anonymous Postmasters in the faint hope that one of their Admins might stumble across it and take some action. From our point of view that is very close to any other form of spam, even more so if the author simply drops his post and runs, never to return. However we are anti-spam and happy to help anyone with spam-related problems.

If you are having problems sending mail through mail.howyee.com (106.187.48.161) it is unlikely the cause will be the APEWS listing (any network using that for mail blocking is too clueless to stay in business) - and you are presently not listed in any major RBL. Have a look at your DNS records. Is your SPF authority actually what you intend? Looks to me like it is authorizing relays from an uncommonly wide range - and perhaps not the range intended by the irregular CIDR notation presently specified in that record. Also the nameservers point several other servers/domains to 106.187.48.161 (SUEBUY.COM and LI398-161.MEMBERS.LINODE.COM). Is that deliberate? Why?

If you wish to discuss your problems with mail transit, feel free to return. If you simply want APEWS de-listing THIS IS NOT THE PLACE.

We cannot help you with that Peter - SC is nothing to do with APEWS, see our FAQ on that at http://forum.spamcop.net/forums/topic/13802-apews-removal/ and also read some of the earlier entries in this topic (to which this now merged) for our impression of APEWS (that would take some time, maybe just the previous one).

(PMs sent to previous 2 posters about the move of their "topics" to this master thread - but it seems the standard mode is "dump and run", until demonstrated otherwise this thread should be regarded more in the way of sanitary engineering than of education.)
