This happened about a week ago. Anybody know why? Paul Are you running Windows 2000, XP, or stronger and recently install a security update (KB832894)? If so, see http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/...in/MS04-004.asp and/or http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;834489
stilespj
Spambo, thanks for the response. I looked at the two links you sent me and compared the recommendations what is set up in my IE6sp1 (on WinSPsp1) security settings. My settings were already at levels recommended in these links. So, it must be something else. Paul
StevenUnderwood
The effect of the patch is to DISABLE authentication in the command line. There is a work around to re-enable it somewhere if you are so inclined, but it opens the possibility that a spammer or worm can also use it to their advantage.
