spam from Google Mail Groups

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I've been getting spam lately from Google Groups (?).  Here is a reporting:

https://www.spamcop.net/mcgi?action=gettrack&reportid=7043423617

So when I get them, I send an e-mail to abuse{AT}upogbwd.lomarkesalona{DOT}shop (or whatever domain it comes from).

Then once in awhile, I get a message like the following.  I try to look to see if I am moderator of any of these groups, but it says I am not.   90% of my junk is now coming from these Google Groups.

Any suggestions on resolving it?

So when I get them, I send an e-mail to abuse...

Sorry it is not clear to me if you are sending an email outside of the SpamCop system or if you mean you are sending spam reports inside the system.

In your original post it is not clear to me where in the chain of events the message you included ( > ---------- Original Message ---------- ) Is this the spam you reported resulting in the spam report you linked to? Or is later.  Before I removed email addresses, for security, I was not clear how the FROM or TO or Subject related to you (your email that others can not see).

As @gnarlymarleysuggested, the related tracking URL would help.  The Tracking URL can be found at near the top of the reporting page or it is the link you received when you submit the spam by email as an attachment.

My confusion may be due to my low caffeine level.

It is confusing.   I use Spamcop to report spam.  Here is one of the tracking codes:

https://www.spamcop.net/sc?id=z6622037037z7982bd46e1cf84af3df0246182ead356z

So try clicking the unsubscribe link.
They have your email anyhow,
yes it can be used to confirm your address and probably bogus link.
Do-not write your email address in any box asking for it. It 's bogus!
When you submit your next spam just include the top 3 links  delete the rest
below those 3 links clink "enter, for one space" then write truncated, then submit
Doing this should remove "Too many links." failure
