Links fail to resolve during detailed analysis

2 posts in this topic

I probably fall into the minority here. I usually report spam one at a time using a detailed analysis, rather than just selecting dozens at a time. There is a bug in the detailed analysis which has gone unresolved for many months. The output will say "Resolving link obfuscation" then not resolve anything.

The only way to force Spamcop to resolve to the link is to reload, often several times until it finally resolves the link. Attached is a screen snapshot of the software not doing what it is supposed to do.

Moderator Edit: off-site link removed.

This 'new' Topic will eventually be merged into one of the hundred's plus that already exist in the Reporting Forum section. There a numerous SpamCop FAQ entries "here" that deal with the resolving of URLs within a spam body. There are numerous examples, some have have been fairly well documented as to the data (usually the DNS data involved) to show what's going on in the background, the reasons why the parser fails is explained (over and over) ..... The current terminology uses the phrase "fast-flux" to describe the rapid rotation of hosting/pointers/DNS-data as to just where the URL may be residing 'at any one moment in time' ....

Look for the "Complainerator" Topic for another tool for this scenario.
