sharp spam decrease since I started reportingI

Hi

I am not complaining, lol, I'm puzzled.

I only got an average 10 spams a day before, out of ca 100 e-mails, which was not too bad, compared to most of the people I know. But since I've started reporting them here, in less than a week, the average is now 1-2.

In particular, the spams from a particularly tenacious local spammer (from my country, that is, and targetting only co-nationals), which used to come in bouts of 30-50 over a few days (with long silences between bouts) in the past, stopped immediately after I sent the report with his first 2.

I chose the option masking my data in reports, though. So what's happening? If the Spamcop report got his accounts closed, or frightened him into behaving, great. Or could he still have guessed the origin of the report and just blocked my address?

cheers

Unfortuanately you provided absolutely no information with with post; so if you are looking for an answer or asking a specific question the only thing you will get is a bunch of guesses.

Without knowing how your email is routed, what blocking lists are used and how they are used and what IP address the spam messages were coming from your guess to why they have reduced will be better than ours. How about posting an Tracking ULR?
