Reporting All Unsubmitted Spam Reports

It would be nice to have the option to report all unsubmitted spam reports at one time rather than have to individually submit each report. A few too many times I've had reports go over the time limit required for submission. All the unsubmitted reports can be removed with one mouse click, why not send all reports the same way?

Thanks

1. I'll make the assumption that this deals with the use of a SpamCop Filtered Account, rather than a "reporting" problem ..... so the first thought was to move this to the SpamCop E-Mail account Forum section.

2. On the other hand, it actually reads like (that with a few changed words) maybe the intent was to build a bit different post and have it residing in the "New Feature Request/Suggestion" Forum section.

Elected to move to the E-Mail Account section as it seems to me that this type of manipulating e-mail has been addressed numerous times there ....

I think this may actually refer to the reporting screen in the web-based parser submission.

When I get submit a batch of messages that have been held via the Email account via the web interface, these are queued for processing. A link then appears that allows me to remove all unsubmitted spam from the parser queue.

I suspect that if I was to paste a batch of spam through the web interface the same would also happen. Possibly the link appears when a batch has been submitted by Email as well.

It may be something that only paying members see.

I think jloyal is probably proposing a New Feature Request to allow batch submission of unsubmitted spam. However, that wouldn't work since it would by-pass the last manual check before final report. If jloyal would like to submit in this form then I think the Quick Submit approach would be the preferred route.

...Yes, I agree. Unless Wazoo chimes in otherwise, I shall move this to the "New Feature Request" forum by end of day today, 5 Dec.

...That is correct.

...jloya1, if Andrew's response (the parts I have not quoted in my reply here) was not sufficient, please let us know by posting again here and one of us will try to explain more fully. Thanks!

EDIT 7-Dec: Removed my verbiage about moving this post to the "New Feature Request" forum.

Andrew's response is exactly what I was looking for. I submit spam received in MS Outlook but use a CDO add-on OLSpamcop to submit all the header information. I then receiving email indicating there are reports I need to submit. At this time using the web-based interface I have to submit each report one by one, a very time-consuming process. Is there anyway to submit all the reports as a batch?

Thanks.

Moderator edit: fixed quoting, deleted some vertical whitespace.

We're still assuming this is a flat-rate mail account but from reading jloya1's last post I'm inclined to think he is possibly even a free reporter looking for a means of reporting without having to confirm each submission.

Perhaps jloya1 can tell us what type of SpamCop account is involved?

It is sometime since I was a free-reporter but I can't think of a means for submitting and reporting in one process without a held mail folder such as is available in the flat-rate mail account.

"Quick" reporting via email submission is available to all SpamCop users, including free users.

The procedure is the same for everybody. If they forward the spam to their "Quick" address, SpamCop will automatically report it without any further action on their part and then send them a report about what it did. Our responses cannot be turned off.

Users whose mail clients support the "Forward as attachment" function can attach multiple spams to one submission if their mail app will allow it.

A condition of enabling "Quick" reporting is that the user has to run our Mailhost configuration utility first so that SpamCop can create a list of the services that handle his email so that our system will know what servers to trust when he reports his spam.

Anyone wanting "Quick" reporting enabled should send me their login username (email address they registered for an account with us) and contact me directly at: service [at] admin.spamcop.net

This is exactly what I'm looking for. Using the website http://www.spamcop.net/sc to submit reports once I have submitted my spam is time consuming. I'll contact you shortly.

Having sent Don an email with the required info, and reported several spam to my "quick" address, BUT not having received any "reports about what it did." It has been a couple of days, can I assume that the request did not take and the spam is going into the bit bucket? Would a second email to Don be redundant?

Would you please first check out the FAQ entries (linked from the top of this page http://forum.spamcop.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=2238 ) labeled

E-Mail spam submittals blocked by your ISP? Updated!

Emailed spam Submissions Disappearing? No Confirmation e-mails?

Both of these can be causes for your problem depending if you were able to email reports before. If the troubleshooting there does not help, then you could post here with the results of your test of go ahead and email Don again. Please update us here as to the solution to your problem, however.

Steven, of course reports being blocked by my ISP or others for that matter would be a possibility except it has not happened any time during the last year nor are any reports sent to my "Submit" addy currently being blocked.

You may have hit the parser just about the time it started having problems. Did you get a confirmation email from Don that quick reporting was enabled? Aside from the ISP blocking, a common problem when no acknowledgment is received is having too many spam in one submission.

If you are still not receiving the report after sending one spam to the quick address when you know the parser is up and running, then, IMHO, yes, a second email to Don would be in order.

Yes Miss B, I believe I will. I just wanted to check to make sure I wasn't missing something.

Guess I didn't, but how would anyone know, my cryptic post didn't list all the things I had done nor thought of.

Thanks all for the logic check.
