  1. I am taking the time to write this in the effort of getting affordablegenericdrugs.com added to the blocked list. In the past week, I have been spammed by the web owner twice in a manner that makes it very difficult (impossible) for Spamcop to track them down. First, their email is encoded in base 64 (I believe). Also once Spamcop decodes the email, the link does not point to affordablegenericdrugs.com. It points to a forwarding site with an extension code. In my case, http://hutabfcfsrb.lowcostpills.org/. This forwards the browser to: http://www.affordablegenericdrugs.com/ Spamcop does not find an ip address for http://www.affordablegenericdrugs.com/ so I have done the research. Traceroute fails on affordablegenericdrugs.com from my system in the Terminal (Mac dual 1.6 G4 Cube running Tiger) Dig on the domain returns the following info in China: zav$ dig "www.affordablegenericdrugs.com" ; <<>> DiG 9.2.2 <<>> www.affordablegenericdrugs.com ;; global options: printcmd ;; Got answer: ;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: NOERROR, id: 55480 ;; flags: qr rd ra; QUERY: 1, ANSWER: 7, AUTHORITY: 4, ADDITIONAL: 2 ;; QUESTION SECTION: ;www.affordablegenericdrugs.com. The spam I was sent was the following if anyone cares: http://www.spamcop.net/sc?id=z797129398z08...704694345f2db6z EDIT: Wazoo converted spam sample to a Tracking URL, provided the Tracking URL
  2. I've been trying to report several spammers and have noticed "no links found" recently. Even in simple emails copied in from Mac Classic Eudora. The href is there and the http is there Sample included: Content-Type: text/html; <x-html><!x-stuff-for-pete base="" src="" id="0" charset=""><html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"> </head> <body> <div align="center"> <table height="50" cellSpacing="0" cellPadding="0" width="54%" border="0"> <tr> <td width="100%" height="140"> <a title="http://www.yesoutsource.com/" href="http://www.yesoutsource.com" target="_blank"> <img title="http://www.yesoutsource.com/" src="http://www.yesoutsource.com/images/pro23.gif" border="0" width="626" height="234"></a></td> </tr> <tr> <td width="100%" height="29"><font face="Arial" size="2"><br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <a title="http://www.yesoutsource.com/%72%65movepg.html" href="http://www.yesoutsource.com/%72%65movepg.html" target="_blank"> Rem0ve Me</a></font></td>
  3. I was thinking a little more about dealing with repeat spammers. Who suppports them? What in their chain of services that they require to send spam can be cut to disable them? If an ISP shuts them down, then they get another ISP or use spambots on other people's computers. If a spammer is a repeated spammer, some of the reporting services like spamcop should report the URLs within the spam to their registrar. The registrar should revoke the domain(s) and point their domain to a page explaining why this page is unavailable. If the registrar does not revoke their domain, the registrar should have their operation suspended by the master registrar. If a registrar has a habit of being a registrar for spammers, they will be shut down. This seems able to shut down spammers and if this process is fit into the business model of a registrar, may be able to make it more difficult for these assholes to do business. - Alex Zavatone
  4. Spamcop exists to free us from unwanted solicitation ala email. It protects us from fraudulent spam and repeated unwelcome solicitations. My email box is a private location which should be protected from people trying to push their interests and separate me from my money. I wish for NO commercial solicitations in my email box unless we have an agreement ahead of time that there is an interest for this. This does not mean that everyone in the world who wants to sell me something, award me my Nigerian millions, expand me penis OR breasts, refinance my house which I do not own, get me drugs that I do not need, etc, etc, etc can try to contact me through my email box to ask for this permission. Spamcop is all we've got to protect OUR interests and OUR email boxes from crooks, practicers of fraud, anyone who wants to sell anything, or flood OUR boxes with THEIR stuff. I conduct BUSINESS through my email. I TALK to my FRIENDS through my email. This is MY EMAIL BOX. I want it PROTECTED from unwelcome intrusions by corporate entities EXACTLY LIKE that of Scott Richter's Opt In Real Big. He should be prosecuted for attempting to jeopardize OUR privacy with his actions against Spamcop. Legal actions by spammers or email-marketers to impinge OUR rights and OUR privacy can not stand. - Alex Zavatone San Francisco, USA.
