  1. Thanks all. With your assistance, this is what I ended up with(that works): On the "Server Settings Page" for a created account. (The wizard seems to be a bit more difficult to force into correct behavior.) Server Type: IMAP Mail Server Server Name: imap.cesmail.net Port: 143 User Name: myname[at]spamcop.net Security Settings Connection Security: None Authentication Method: Password, Transmitted insecurely (All other settings I left at default, but I doubt they matter) Any chance of this getting in the FAQs?
  2. In order to use my filtered email account with Thunderbird, I need a few pieces of information. IMAP server name: IMAP Port: Connection Security: Authentication Method. Server Name is PROBABLY imap.spamcop, net, but I could use a confirmation Port is probably 143 for insecure or 993 for ssl (Which is of course prefered). Connection Security should be one of these: None, STARTTLS, SSL/TLS Authentication Method should be one of these: Normal Password, Encrypted Password, Kerebos/GSSAPI, NTM, TLS Certificate This really should be documented in an FAQ, but if it is, it is well hidden. Help please

  4. Yeah, the "contact your service provider" is what I am getting too. But I point out to my phone provider that I have all the server information (imap.spamcop.net port 143) and just need to know where to put it, I also point out that if one googles "lg rumor imap", one will get links to a number of reviews that list imap/pop3 support as being available in the phone. They have wandered off to check on this stuff. we will see what they come up with. I would hate to have to set up a gmail account just so I could read email on my phone.
  5. Nope. Adding the "s" just gets me to a secure version of the blank white page. Different size, 513 bytes. Sigh.
  6. Ah. The missing "s" could be the problem. I will try that when I get off the phone with my phone service provider, who is trying to figure out how to enter the imap information so I can use the email client on the phone. I know that there is one, a number of people reference in reviews. I just cannot figure out how to set it up.
  7. Thank you both. The http://mobile.webmail.com URL allows me to log in, but I only get a white page (582 bytes of blankness) (I have reported this). According to a couple of online reviews, the LG LX260 does have both IMAP and POP3 support, but I have yet to figure out how to set that up.
  8. I have a new telephone. An LG Rumor, also known as a 260. I would like to get my Spamcop email on this phone. I can log in with the wireless web support, but it is extremely clumsy. I see that there is direct support on the phone for Google Mail and Yahoo Mail. Can I get a similar level of integration with my Spamcop email? Or at least something usable. Sub questions: 0) Can I get a clean integration of Spamcop on this phone?1) Is there a "mobile" interface to the webmail system? 2) Anyone know a way get the "Polaris" browser to keep my password? It is extremely clumsy to enter a longish secure password into the phone. Thank you.
  9. Oh, it was a simple mistake. I put in just the name by mistake. What was odd was that it worked some of the time. (which is what slowed me down in realizing the problem) If it had NEVER worked, I would not have started this topic. The fact that it occasionally did work is what may confuse others and I hope this topic will save them some time
  10. This is intended to be informational. When setting up Thunderbird to pull email from a SpamCop filtered email account, be sure to use your full spamcop user id: USERNAME[at]spamcop, net in the IMAP server setup. Simply using the name portion USERNAME will occasionally work, but often fail. This is very confusing. Mail may pull one time, then fail for the next half dozen or so, leaving you searching for connection failures, or timeouts, or race conditions. Simply setting the User Name correctly in the Server Settings dialog will solve this condition. I believe this will work the same way for POP, as I was having similar symptoms, before I switched to IMAP in an attempt to repair.
  11. I just sent him an email. I don't remember if I did that before or not.
  12. Waking up the thread again. Has there been any change here?
  13. And now it appears to work in SpamCop land. Are you on the development team for this app? So we can expect the date header to propogare as people upgrade? Thanks, SKip
  14. They, hey, whatever. is that the way to get ahold of him/them?
  15. I thought they only responded to support questions here. Will they pay attention to Support <at> Spamcop.net?
