  1. I have a Hotmail account that I use for unimportant things--i.e., where I am required to create an account in order to access a service but I know I don't ever want to get mail from them. So, of course, I get a lot of spam on that account.

One big host offender is salesforce.com. Of course, the reports go to abuse#salesforce.com@devnull.spamcop.net

Before reading here and realizing that reports sent to abuse@saleforce.com just went into a black hole, I was forwarding messages to them as attachments. I'd done so with some regularity.

When I did so the other day I got a server error from outlook.com; thinking there was a glitch I tried again. Same problem. I checked my settings and tried a third time, and this time I received an email from Outlook member services--addressed to me, using the name I gave for my account profile, saying "We noticed some unusual activity in your Outlook.com account. To help protect you, we've temporarily blocked your account. ... Someone may have used your account to send out a lot of junk emails or something else that violates our Terms of Service."

I checked through the email, looking at every embedded link and they all seemed legit--the "verify your account" link was

    https://account.live.com/reputationcheck?ru=https://outlook.live.com/owa/

I'm no expert but that looks valid, and indeed I couldn't otherwise log into my account.

So... Microsoft has no problem delivering Salesforce spam to me (by the busload) but nabs me for reporting it.

If you email a copy of the raw message using the submit address instead of going through the app it is not truncated. I find this handy for the long lists of websites selling random unwanted pots so they get included in abuse reports. The most interesting info is generally in the header and this method may not be the best for those wanting to send bulk spam reports?

Yes, but my request/suggestion was an option to automatically truncate such messages submitted via the website.

The emails you get from SpamCop (often a number) give you a link you need to click each one to verify only then will your Mailhosts be updated

Not sure what you mean. Below is the email I received. Many times now, I have clicked on the first link (after "Please return this complete email, preserving full headers and the special
tracking codes below.  Visit this address:") and copied/pasted the full headers and body of that email into the field there. When I do so, I get the message  "Test email processed succesfully.
Please re-visit the mailhost menu and make sure you have registered mailhosts for all your email addresses." etc.

And when I go back to the mailhost menu, the address that i was just told was processed successfully is not there.

I have also forwarded (as an attachment) to the address under "Alternately...." Also no change.

    Hello SpamCop user,

This email contains special codes and tracking information to help SpamCop
figure out your specific email configuration.  Do not post this email in
public.  It contains confidential information related to the security of
    your SpamCop account.

Please return this complete email, preserving full headers and the special
tracking codes below.  Visit this address:
    https://www.spamcop.net/mcgi?action=mhreturn

Alternately, you may submit via email.  Forward the message as an
attachment to this address.  Or create a new message and paste this email
into it.  Either way, send it to to:

    mhconf.nGEZe5jRpSs5Xd61@cmds.spamcop.net

Some email software may only support one or the other of these submission
methods.  For information on your email software and to learn how to get
    full headers see this FAQ:
    https://www.spamcop.net/fom-serve/cache/19.html

    Special codes follow:

    [info snipped]

  4. I've repeatedly tried to add an address (a verizon.net account, administered by AOL). The test email is sent through mx-aol.mail.gm0.yahoodns.net.

I copy/past the whole email (header and body) to the field in the link provided, and am then told "Test email processed successfully."

But the mailhost never appears on the Mailhosts page. What's going on? I've tried this a half-dozen times as well as forwarding the email instead of using the form.
