  1. Thanks that sets my mind at rest.  As it’s so common it speaks volumes about the security at cesmail’s servers.

definitely a scam to get money (or bitcoins)...
I actually report it to the originating provider...
haven't received one in a long time now... used to get them frequently...

  2. Periodically I receive emails to & from my cesmail email address saying due to a trojan my “device” has been hacked.  It possibly started either after I reported a strange email abyear or so ago, or after I almost got an infection which Malwarebytes Pro intercepted and cleaned.  I now use McAfee to protect my PC & iPhone/iPad. The email asks for money but I delete them immediately.  I don’t believe what they say as I frequently do full scans with WD, MBAM Pro (now installed but kept inactive), and McAfee.

    Thoughts anyone?

  3. Got a great answer from Spamcop/Richard and it only took about 8 minutes for him to respond too, which is impressive.

I had asked about my fuel getting low and had forgotten that Cesmail Accounts never had fuel anyway, the fuel we did have was given a while back to everyone as compensation for an outage

Yes, that is correct. The fuel however makes no difference with your
account as it has the cesmail flag set, so the system sees and treats it
as a premium account. You'll see no change when the fuel runs out.
Technically, your account never should have had fuel. When we had
ongoing network issues a couple of years ago we upgraded everyone's
account to a premium account or added fuel to premium accounts, as a way
of apologizing for the issues. Of course it made no difference with
cesmail users, but the way the add fuel was written didn't
differentiate account types. It just added fuel to all accounts.

  4. As I said earlier All settings are now at http://www.spamcop.net/ Preference tab where you can set forwarding to your address. All POP/IMAP settings should have been cancelled at SC Webmail before the change. If you had mail stored in folders at Webmail, you've lost it as the notice went out literally ages ago and it was posted on the log-in page and News for quite a long while too.

I don't understand anyone using such a service and never bothering to check the web pages all that time.

  5. A few weeks ago? They stopped accepting subscriptions some time ago. Mine was OK in July and as I got 3 months-worth I'm not too worried about it as I still can use the reporting service. Anway you can always dispute the charge if you paid using a credit card or PayPal. However, if you do that you will be forfeiting the cesmail email address too don't forget. All reporting settings are on the Preferences tab at spamcop.net and Help is obatinable through ther Help link there.

  6. My wife and I both have SpamCop e-mail addresses. We both made sure to put in the forwarding before the end of September. The forwarding on my account works The forwarding on my wife's does not.

Going to the page with the forwarding setting: https://webmail.spamcop.net/horde/imp/spamcop/preferences.php

The ability to see/add/change/edit the forwarding address is gone! Just the announcement of how important it is to set the forwarding address. No place to actually do it.

    Help!

Even on my account, where forwarding is working, there is no way for me to see and/or update the address should it become necessary.

The setting has moved to the reporting page. Go to http://www.spamcop.net and click the Preferences tab.

  7. I neglected to set a forwarding address or change my IMAP server, and am now getting an invalid certificate. I went to the spamcop.net address and read the note about forwarding, but don't see any form there for entering a forwarding address, and I noticed I can no longer do it on my spamcop webmail account. I tried changing forwarding address in the "Preferences" section of spamcop.net, but it never sent a confirmation email to that address. Have tried it several times. Any suggestions?

Set it up at SC Reporting > Preferences tab
