I have been reporting spam here for years with no problems. Now I get this

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

I double checked the address that I must use to submit them and still get the bounce.

Never get bounce reports from SpamCop?
Put thr bounce through SpamCop's parser and check (you can cancel Web parser if not spam)

SC's parser has been redirecting twitter spam to /dev/null for quite a long time (there is no date to when the redirect was added for us users to see) but on a search through the forum I found a reference dating back to Oct. 2019.

after Musk bought twitter, I mean X, the redirect should be removed to at least let them prove their willingness to fight spam, or at least to prevent abuse.

With a web sniffer I get the following website redirect for twitter:

    https://twitter.com/safety/unsafe_link_warning?unsafe_link=http://yadayadayada

I changed the original to yadayadayada to prevent involuntary access...

Still, I believe it's time to let them prove themselves competent or caring...

I always truncate emails larger than 50k regardless if I submit them by email or post them on the website. in fact, a long time ago I wrote a scr!pt that automatically checks the size and snips the end off.

Same here a lot of it is PDF rubbish
just write one or two spaces then write Truncated
But I do this by pasting into SpamCop's web  page.

I don't have 'Quick Data Reports' in my options, only the following:

    Show Technical Details during reporting
    Report reply handling
    spam Munging
    3rd party report default

Seems it's now only available for paid subscribers.
    this is what I see
    SpamCop Preferences
    What non-subscribers see (thanks RobbiBue)

There is a free version widows program that, once you work out can automate reporting
You need it (MailWasher) to check your email first to check for spam (not hard)
To stop getting annoying auto-acks set up a free throw away email account like Gmail, you must check at least once a day!
It is very good - you can add block (sort ham from spam) like SpamCop, and others like ZEN SpamHause

WHY did this change?  And how about a CLUE for people who are NOT code monkeys what to do with this?

Sounds like you have clicked "Select outlook/eudora workaround form"
on your reporting page click it again and two boxes should disappear.
Some email programs put your headers in one box and body in another

Look carefully at the header. If you submitted a spam report resulting in report #15211355, the report received by cloudflare includes a SpamCop return email address including the report number.

IF the real cloudflare responded to the report using that email, or did a reply TO: their email would have gone to spamcop.

SpamCop would then forward cloudflare's response to you (who submitted the original spam) so you could respond if you want too.

This process provides you with any response from those that receive spam reports you generate -- AND keeps your email address hidden from the spammers/host/ISP. Looking at the header/raw data you should be able to tell if the email you received came from SpamCop.

This action is controlled by your preferences selected on https://www.spamcop.net/mcgi?action=showadvanced

IMHO there is one draw back to this procedure. IF/when you respond to the sender (cloudflare) you will reveal you email address/identify. There is no pass through back from you, through SpamCop, to whoever received the report (cloudflare).  On the other hand, if the reply is from the spammer, or ISP you think is supporting the spammer, there is no point. If you decide that those that received the report are a responsible party, there should not be a problem revealing your email. (On the other hand, it really doesn't make any difference, the spammer already has your email address.) In the last ~18 yrs I have had been using the same email address. Every one and their brother knows what it is (Norton finds my email everywhere). In spite of the visibility and activision, mostly I have a ho-hum level of daily spam; I have no filtering so I can see everything sent to my domain and sort them in FireFox. There have been three DOS attacks on my email address.

AFAIK the only browser (Windows and Linux) that can't use it is Microsoft Edge?

    can't find the Unix one?

The email link in my latest report did not have an IP address and therefor fake but it must have gone somewhere or why send the email? I guess it would be hard for opera to distinguish between the good and bad redirects such as sending to the right the country. This job is done by the service provider when the telco for example on a phone gives a message that the link is deemed suspicious with the option to go back but only if the link has been reported and investigated.

It is a free app not designed by opera, this app seems to be available for many different browsers, easy to remove if not to ones liking.

I have been getting full headers and reporting to Spamcop emails for several years.  Now, the spammer is sending emails to my Spamcop address and it is being forwarded, as I requested, to my home email address.

When I try to report it, I get the "internal ip" error message.

I replied to test messages to reset my Spamcop mail host and they say, "Success," but when I go to my mailhosts page, only the pre-existing single Spamcop mail host is shown and I cannot delete it ("Already deleted?"] to add the 3 new ones in the Success emails.

Is there a delay in updating mailhosts?  Do I simply have to wait to try to report spams until the system somehow accepts the new mailhosts?

    Old and Confused,

    Ian

send a tracking URL then members can se what's happening. Found at TOP of page BEFORE you submit spam.

Thanks for that Robi we could do with a laugh about now.

That has happened to me out of the blue because they get addresses by dodgy means.

A lot of my spammed addresses have been gotten not from but others who use weak passwords, Wi-Fi in retail places, no virus detection, VPN.
These clowns got my info from last millennium by buying out a credit provider I never actually used but remember putting a deposit on a fridge
which I needed quickly as the old one broke down and they needed ID in case I didn't pay I suppose, Australian made Fridge/Freezer still going today!

Supposed receiving system not associated with any of your mailhosts Will not trust this Received line” (which I don't quite understand,

It's gobbledegook that appears when you have mailhosts set-up.
What SpamCop does then is identify the last email "server" that your email server received it from
sending reports not always to the spam source.
Not really a biggie as the mail server abuse deck will cancel the free email account (if they react to abuse complaints).
But it is always better to report to the source of spam as well which stops them just using free account to some degree,
Makes it more difficult for a spammer.
If you open a 2nd SpamCop page and put in the source IP into its "form box" you can add abuse contact it gives to your report.

In fact, I'm completely lost here, regarding what you are now speaking about.
Should I start a new topic repeating my initial question in order to revert to the initial subject?

Have you tried latest Microsoft Edge and got past the CAPTCHA?
Everyone so-far except you have reported it works?
Have then you set-up another SpamCop account  without mailhosts being set-up, to try to correct spam reports from going to wrong source of spam?

No one knows these answers except you?

Sorry for off topic...there are lots of blocking apps and I use a different one and add to that all the sites receiving abuse reports, the bad smell follows them around until they have a well deserved history but there must no doubt it is ongoing spam and that takes time.

My spamvertisers continue to send so I continue to report - MX record pointing to IP, domain name IP not found discarded as fake not routable cannot resolve masking ip-based by clause. All starting with 40.107 from US MS report failed report sent to hotmail. The email includes a warning in english and another language that a breach of confidentiality is a felony in an attempt to intimidate the target to follow instructions or else...nothing to do.

On private browsers I use the duck and other members are using it and I was using startpage and they now offer secure email for a small fee. No encryption is completely secure but I am willing to sacrifice some search results for no tracking. If there are any grey areas like accepting cookies or sus links I can manually press the set it all on fire button on exit if in doubt. I also use a trusted anti-tracking email service and I get a report telling me how many and what type of trackers were blocked and I hand out that address rather than my own or they offer a temp address.

Windows 95 was Apple 85 silly billy!

This site is not a blocking site just a statistic's site
I use the Duck also Google don't like giving access to VPN IP's
I use Gmail mainly although to watch Australian TV online require a Yahoo email address
What you stated though is sound.

My source has the abuse count at 8 from different reporters since march last one a week ago and they are listed on 4 blocklists so time is running out. Note that IP forgery is the MO again and it is estimated that 75% of scams come from India and the rest from Africa. The spamwar is not over when useful ways to report keep popping up.

On working towards standards to allow network systems to operate all chromebooks should be taken to a high altitude and thrown away.

has no put their "SENDER IP REPUTATION" from poor to good

Was on the SC Blocklist but auto-delisted after no spam for 24 hours.
Other Blocklist's may have much longer times before they delist.

if someone is using a unix type OS, an M$ product is the last thing they would want to use.
also, M$ is not the lead company for web applications, even though they'd like to call themselves that.

I admire what Gates did in his youth, but somewhat despise what has happened wit and through that company since...

personally I try to avoid M$ products, ans as a browser I use Mozilla, also trying to avoid Google's chrome.

Good advice Edge browser to me for WIN10 is so far the worst, slow
and if you click a clickbait URL with it you could easily have malware problem!
I used to use Fox but they also started having problems so went to Norwegian Browser Opera.
Now owned by China have disabled (I hope) further updates after they put an annoying AI nagware pop-up
Always giving a annoying and large, suggestions Pop-up, when you are reading or want to search by highlighting a word!
Easily turned off but don't trust it! So may have to look for another browser, I use a VPN
but Google search block it as do many media sites, so it must work, easy to turn off and on but a slug for computer to load it
