Lking Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 Washington Post article I found their concern about uses of the last four of your SSN most interesting. The last 4 digits are the most unique to an individual. Anyone that has been in the service sense about 1969 when DoD switched from the old 8 digit service number to SSN has their last four stamped on all their tidy-whiteties and everything else they owned. I always figured if I got caught in East Germany I would never see the light of day because of the "secret messages" I was carrying; I had the last 4 of my service number and the last 4 of my SSN written on the inside of boots.
Miss Betsy Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 I have wondered about that since it seems that SSN have a commonality with states. And also possibly DOB. Just from what would be called 'anecdotal' observation. Miss Betsy
