Email dangerous links?

Recommended Posts

...There's absolutely no question about it, yes, indeed!!! I never navigate to any URLs in e-mails, even e-mail that appears to be from people I know, until I have established that it is safe (and never by just clicking on them, but by copying the URL and pasting it into the browser URL address line, since the text of the link can be different from the URL to which clicking actually takes you!). Although not 100% reliable, I often use McAfee Site Advisor to check sites. I'm sure there are other such sites available and it is probably wise to use several. I also run antivirus software, Symantec Endpoint Protection, the data for which I keep up-to-date, and run Microsoft MRT in "Full Scan" mode weekly on my Windows 7 PC.
