nobody@spamcop.net Posted May 13, 2004 Posted May 13, 2004 Not to step on toes but l am thinking a lot of people followed the link from the slashdot email sent out today I did yes a definite side effect of the /. effect.
Miss Betsy Posted May 13, 2004 Posted May 13, 2004 IANAL, but IMHO, those who make comments on the current legal proceedings ought to have some understanding of legal proceedings. Many of the comments are 'cartooneys' to lawyers - and you know how admins feel about 'cartooneys' I would be willing to bet some lawyers are the same way. I am all for citizen action against spam (and not just the sedate lobbying for laws that CAUCE does). Petitions are good, but IMHO, they should be less emotional and more precise about what they want (especially making a clear definition of spam). The best definition that I have is unsolicited bulk email (UBE) because that is the problem. Since an individual sender cannot know whether it is bulk or not, s/he can only state that it is unsolicited. The person who receives the report can determine whether it was bulk or not. So already there is a check before any IP address is blocked due to reports of spam. To me that is one of the advantages of the spamcop system. the nanas concept is another way of demonstrating that it is bulk. Miss Betsy

At one time I would not have said that but you blew your reputation in these forums all on your own. Now, no one wants to get into any conversations with you. Have a nice life, somewhere else.

My reputation isn't in question, particularly not by yourself. You have done nothing but be obnoxious, and then complain that anyone objects. Why do you insist on personal attacks.
dra007 Posted May 13, 2004 Posted May 13, 2004 Merlyn does not attack anyone but trolls, and there is only one on this forum.
StevenUnderwood Posted May 13, 2004 Posted May 13, 2004 My reputation isn't in question, particularly not by yourself. No, your reputation can be figured out quite easily by reading a few of the threads you have posted to. However, that reputation is probably not what you think it is. Here is a link you all yourbuddy's messages.
dra007 Posted May 13, 2004 Posted May 13, 2004 I didn't think I would, but I am catching up with wazoo.. Top Ten
