Piracy reporting

Apologies if this has already been suggested/ happending, but I was wanted to suggest an enhancement to Spamcop....

Many of the spam emails I receive are for fake versions of popular drugs and pirated software. I know that the big pharmaceutical & software companies take an active interest in the criminal businesses involved in selling such products. Therefore I was wondering if Spamcop's reporting could be enhanced to report the prevalence of such spam, the originators etc direct to those companies? The linkes of Elli Lilly, Microsoft, Symantec etc would then be able to better target their legal action against forged drugs etc, which would hopefully do everyone a favour by reducing spam.

This could even be a fee based service offered to companies whose products are being targetted by spammers.

Does this already happen? Can anyone see any flaws/ further benefits to this? Is it marketable??!

The SpamCop parser doesn't deal with "content" .. and even the possibility of trying to parse "words" out of the blue could lead to a whole bunch of problems.

On the other hand, the paid-accounts have the option of adding addresses to the reports loist, one can send manual reports, etc.

And, of course, there's the Cyveillance connection that allegedly already does something of the sort, but that's another whole bag of worms.

It would be handy if paid members had reporting links for pharma and software companies already insertd into the reporting form for manual checkoff -- also the American FDA and the software industry association that fights piracy.

This might even be useful enough to the industries to warrent a financial contribution to support SpamCop.

I have reviewed and searched, but have not found anything similar yet...

I'd like to see a personal or temporary blacklist option for webmail spamcop members. I see that there is a "Release and White List" option, but no "Report as spam and Blacklist" option.

While the spammers may be hijacking domains and piggybacking as anonymous riders on large corporate servers, so their actions are temporary - this may prevent this blacklist option - but I am getting repeated spams, esp. phishing expeditions for ebay and paypal and non-existent US bank accounts among others, using the same servers, such as Samsung.com's, that at least this will further reduce such material, until such sysops shut them down, or close those ports the spammers are using.

I'd also like to see a facility to report such activity directly to the organisation trying to shut them down, such as anti-piracy groups, reportphishing.org, and the various spoof[at]*.com who would like to hear from the community getting such material. At least the most popular/common orgs could be starters as a pilot project.

As a conscientious spamcop member, I'm pretty careful about redirecting this sort of e-crement to the right places in hopes that it will be shut down or reduced, I trust the others are too.
