manager2004@paulmcafee.com Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 When I submit spam, I constantly get a message like this from SpamCop: "Please wait - subscribe to remove this delay (or click reload if this page does not refresh automatically in 100 seconds.) Membership is cheap! About $15 for two years of average use." I paid $25.00 to SpamCop on March 10, 2004. Why am I constantly asked to pay more money?

Why am I constantly asked to pay more money? ...If I understand how this paid reporting stuff works, you paid for a certain number of bytes of reporting (also known as "fuel"). Perhaps you exceeded the amount for which you paid and must now pay more to maintain your paid status. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than I will drop a note to confirm or correct this. ...Seems to me that if you're forking over $25 for a limited amount of fuel that you might want to consider the $30 for one year unlimited reporting plus SpamCop e-mail (see SpamCop Email System for Individuals).
Wazoo Posted June 24, 2004 Posted June 24, 2004 March should have been long enough for things to have occurred .. credit card charged, check cleared bank, etc ... you should have received notification of your new account changes by now. Did you ever get anything to reflect that your money was actually received by SpamCop? You might want to follow all this up with a note of all the data particulars, account name, real name, how paid, etc. in an e-mail to service <at> admin.spamcop.net ... Normally you would have received some sort of "Invoice" by now that would have contained some usefull data.
manager2004@paulmcafee.com Posted June 24, 2004 Author Posted June 24, 2004 Thank you. I've sent an email. I checked and my MasterCard account has reconciled the $25.00 payment, meaning that SpamCop took my money. But I don't remember getting any additional registration information.
Wazoo Posted June 25, 2004 Posted June 25, 2004 Don had been pretty fast with e-mail responses yesterday afternoon .. I'd be surprised if he hasn't answered your query by now. Hope it's all resolved by now.
dbiel Posted June 26, 2004 Posted June 26, 2004 Why am I constantly asked to pay more money? Keep in mind that when you purchase a paid account, it does NOT convert the free account to a paid status, it rather creates a brand new account. If you report using the old free account you will continue to receive the messages. If you report using the new paid account you will get a return message of how much fuel is left
